Are you going to factor Finney and Foster injuries as the main reason why Pittsburgh struggled on the offense this year? The Steeler OLine was banged up.

There are still playmakers in the nfl. You can’t see it because everyone has an oline and dline and some linebackers and a qb or whatever. Running backs hold the ball more than anyone except the qb. You need a great rb. The rb position is not dead

Of course RB is important, but that doesn't negate that RBs are easily replaceable. The Jags could probably take Jordan Scarlett or Benny Snell in the 4th round and get equal production to what they've gotten out of Fournette so far

Waters had 5 TD right but not sure thinking he had tons of yards

I think Floyd had 3 but he wasn’t a big rusher he was used Goalline situations and pass catcher

The Jags are moving on from Bortles. They'll draft a QB and go after another cheap vet as a bridge

Replaceable RB ain't so easy for a cheap bridge vet or 2nd best rookie QB in a bad QB draft-led team either.

Why wouldn't there be? Top end talent like him always get multiple chances.

I don't see him as a top-end talent in the NFL. He needs a hole and two to three yards before contact to be effective. If he gets that, he's a load. If he doesn't, he's close to useless, as his lateral movement and ability to create in space is poor. And how often do running backs get a hole and three yards in the NFL? Not often.

And he's a low-end "professional."

And RBs are not a priority in the NFL.

I'm not saying he won't get a shot with another team. I think he will. But he's not good enough for a contending team to put up with his attitude and nonsense. A well-run franchise can sign a RB just as good or better than him and not have to deal with his bullshite.

...so it'd make more sense to use Fournette's money to pay OL depth or a better WR than Donte Moncrief

Phillip Lindsay was undrafted and he ran for the same amount of yards as Fournette did last year on almost 100 fewer carries and he had Case Keenum as his quarterback.

LF7, great athlete
LF7, remarkable talent
LF7, hell of a football player
LF7, loves him at LSU

But let’s be honest, he isn’t all that intelligent.

I hope he gets his shite together.

All that money is like 2mil if they cut him.

All of his base $ is now not guaranteed. He still got the frick ton of upfront signing bonus that you have to eat.

Because he’s still on the team, and he should have the discipline to sit there, respectfully.

For those of you saying that Fournette is a career bust, you obviously did not watch him play last year. He was in the race for offensive rookie of the year for a reason.

To compare him to Trent Richardson is pure ignorance.

I don't know, this seems like a giant red herring to me. Didn't Marrone do something sketchy with the Bills too. Their offense is shite and everyone is only talking about Fournette.

The Jags made Andrew Norwell and Brandon Linder the highest paid OG and C in the NFL in the offseason. They took Cam Robinson 30 picks after LF.

On top of the multiple huge contracts committed to the defense.

It would appear the Jags invested pretty heavily in LF after taking him 4 overall. Seems like they wanted to build around the run game and defense.

Is LF the victim here? Dude got $27 mil guaranteed

Coughlin absolutely did try to build around the run game and defense, and no, Fournette is not a victim here- he has made immature decisions at times and his play on the field hasn’t been great. This does seem like a “shift the blame from the coaching staff/front office” move to me. I’m shocked they’re keeping Marrone.

I’m also skeptical that there’s a black and white policy on voiding contract guarantees if suspended- I haven’t heard any talk of this when other notable players have been suspended for fighting. We’ll see if Fournette ends up fighting it
