As for Fournette, his biggest issues are in his head. Hopefully there is someone he trusts in his inner circle who is willing to tell him what he doesn't want to hear.

This thing is going to be disallowed by players union. Voiding a rookie contract before its complete fricks up the salary cap rules and its not clear what happens on his next contract. Total stunt by Jags.
This
Even if allowed still a stunt

I mean that's not relevant to Lester's point, but it is the reason he is struggling.
Vision concerns should be the red flag of all red flags when scouting running backs. That isn't something that's going to drastically improve when the competition is ramped up. There were clearly flaws in his game in college- but the size+speed combination will make scouts overlook deficiencies like that.
His ceiling is an average NFL running back that could potentially have 1-2 really good years in the right system. His raw athletic talent could potentially afford him that, but that diminishes quickly when you run the way he does. He'll get a 2-3 year prove it deal somewhere and then he'll be Carlos Hyde or Chris Ivory

SO... His vision takes all that away............
His vision has nothing to do with his athletic ability PJ

But it has everything to do with him being an elite NFL RB........

No one called him an elite RB

Doug Marrone confirmed the team did this just now
Y’all remember when Roquan Smith held out over the summer? This is why. Total nonsense.

It doesn’t really matter unless the cut him. Which I doubt would happen because he has trade value if they wanted to get rid of him

It’s going to change NFL contracts though. The NFLPA is going to raise hell.
Roquan Smith was worried about being suspended for the new helmet rule that everyone was freaking out over in the preseason. He won, got his contract altered to have his money voided if suspended for 3 games.
A lot of players will hold out next summer if they have this Fournette language in their contracts. Book it.

The NFLPA won’t do anything they have no power. The players are so unorganized Let them holdout it’s their perogative but this language will get upheld even Doty won’t touch any case. He wouldn’t have touched the Smith case either.

They have an imbecile for a leader.

So what? ? he proved to be explosive regardless. He had the fastest recorded foot speed in the nfl last year on any singular play. The guy is a freak
When have you ever seen Fournette move a pile? If you have a RB at 240lbs you would expect him to move the pile, but his lower body strength is mediocre for a player that size.
He also tip toes a lot and has poor balance.
He is fast for his size, but it's not elite speed. Elite size/speed ratio is like Jadaveon Clowney who ran 4.53 at 266 lbs.
Fournette has good, but not elite straight line speed for his size. That's really it. I wouldn't classify that as having elite athleticism.

They are not gonna cut him when there is a team out there that would give a ton up to take a chance on a RB who has zero vision or cut back ability that needs an elite offensive line just to be effective..........

I said they’d raise hell, not actually accomplish anything
. Smith is a useless moron.
This will be on the players/agents

The frick?
You have guys who get drug suspensions who don’t get their guaranteed money voided.
Voiding Fournette’s guarantees over a brawl which involved him defending a teammate is horseshite.

He is not that good... YES he will never amount to much in JAX.... He is the type of back that HAS to have a great o-line to be effective....
