Chances on a scale of 1-10 Welker even knows where he is in that picture. Even Al Toon thinks enough is enough.

My understanding is that if a PF occurs during the course of a play, it would have given the ball back to Den. Similar to if SEA would have hit Manning illegally after the pass. INT overruled, Den ball.

No, the hit occurred after Seattle had possession of the ball. Just like the hit on Foles occurred after the change in possession, Redskins kept the ball. Seattle would have had the ball even if a flag would have been thrown.

Incorrect. Hitting a defenseless receiver, or illegally blocking a QB during the course of an INT return, now gives the ball back to the offense

ETA: I think that is the new rule put in. Looking for it now

No way an illegal block on the QB gives the ball back to the team that turned it over.

Once the ball is intercepted, Welker technically becomes a tackler, not a WR, right? At that point, the "defenseless receiver" protection is moot, is it not?
Or have they girlied up the sport so much that they have to give him room to go make the tackle?

If you call that hit a decapitation, you have no head yourself.

While im not sure if the ball would go back to the offense, im positive he is protected until he finishes his route . Maybe it would be called unnecessary roughness and not a hit on a defenseless receiver but he is still given protection

No, it doesn't alter possession. If you are wondering why the Eagles got the ball back after Foles was hit late, they reviewed the play and ruled it an incompletion.
