Anyone going buy any Packers stock?

So you want to own an NFL team? Here's your chance to buy a share of the Green Bay Packers for $300.
To be sure, the stock will have no value, pay no dividend and allow no say in team matters, but the Packers are offering shares of "ownership" for just the sixth time in franchise history and the first time in 10 years.
The early stock sales (1923, 1935 and 1950) were done out of necessity in order to keep the team afloat financially in the small market of Green Bay. Additional stock sales followed in 1997 and 2011 to raise money for stadium expansion and projects.

doesnt matter, it's genius. they can just do this at needed times so that a new crop of wisconsin dumbs can frame a certificate for their basements or give it to their kids as a gift/legacy

See no reason you can't buy imaginary stock with imaginary money. I've got about $600 in Monopoly money and a deed to Park Place that has more value than Packer "stock".

According to the wiki page. Shareholder do get a vote on Board of Directors and attend yearly corporate meetings. It's a nonprofit so no one gets a dividend. Only the Pres of the board gets paid, all other execs work gratis.

True. Have a buddy that lives up in the U.P. that is a "team owner". There is a huge annual stockholders meeting each year that is just a massive party with bands up at Lambeau.
