RA'D. The fact that you haven't been banned for your constant shitty threads/trolling is mind blowing.

It isn't... it is a personal preference.... Basketball is boring to me, I would rather watch golf than basketball. You may see baseball in that fashion
So you prefer sports where things don't actually happen?
right....every pitch is a battle, physically and mentally.
what doesnt happen? instant gradification for the viewer? baseball is an intellectual sport, probably why you dont get it.

Players using their legs.

Baseball is a money making machine that continues to get bigger and bigger. It's not going anywhere but up.

I'm not following your logic.

This statement is incorrect.

basketball is boring.... lets dribble a ball and if a player breathes on the wrong player a foul is called.... or lets just walk the ball down and take 15 steps before shooting....
I would watch hockey or nascar before the NBA

Okay, I went through all 5 pages and can't believe no one asked you to expand on this.
OP FWIW, I think it is a poorly worded, but legitimate topic.
All I can imagine is the growing controversy about player safety.
Football is by far the most loved sport in America (really popular at both college and pro level), and the player safety thing is really the only significant danger I see to the sport.
It is interesting to think that 100 years ago the most popular sports were baseball, boxing, and horse racing. Two of those suffered huge declines in popularity, which sports we enjoy now will they say the same thing about in decades to come?

The average Major League Baseball team rose 16% in value during the past year, to an all-time high of $605 million. In 2011, revenue (net of payments to cover stadium debt) for the league’s 30 teams climbed to an average of $212 million, a 3.4% gain over the previous season. But operating income (in the sense of earnings before non-cash charges and interest expenses) fell 13%, to an average of $14 million in part due to a 5.1% increase in player costs (including benefits and signing bonuses for amateurs), to $3.5 billion in 2011.
Doesn't seem incorrect to me.
Not to mention the Dodgers filed bankruptcy and are still worth 1.5 billion. Give or take.

Well hockey is the greatest sport ever invented so that's not surprising, but nascar?

It's very, very significant. Especially if the NFL can't curb the long-term side effects.

world series ratings aren't proof.... actually financials are proof.... WS is dependent on which teams are in the WS. And graph doesn't prove your statement correct either, because in fact you are wrong and it is proven within this thread
Just as if Grizz/Raptors made the finals it would be a poorly watched series and ratings would suffer.
Giants/Tigers are great baseball stories but not going to bring in a casual fan way a Lebron Heat squad would because he is a polarizing individuals
