"Ability is the ONLY reason we EVER cut a player"... not surprising this was coming from the bengals... just didn't sound right when he was making that point.

if not for kimo van olhoffen falling onto carson palmer, they'd have won a superbowl with that attitude

for all the bengals problems, they've failed on the field primarily for 1 reason: injuries

their OTs have been fricking destroyed and palmer has been hurt a lot

Bengals have had many issues outside of just injuries. And you can't bank that they would have won that game much less the superbowl.

whats dumber is that line came after he already told the guy "well its a numbers thing"

shitty of the bengals to do it that way- waking them up at 530am to tell them they are cut and plane leaves in 90 minutes? every other team, thney are brought into a meeting with the coach, anf they dont wake them up in the dark to do it

Woke that FB up early as shite, and pretty much told him to GTFO. They were talking about how good he was doing then they cut him.

but these issues were a non factor before losing started again

and that losing came b/c of injuries and nothing else

Every winning organization still has to defeat adversity at some point. The Bengals exploded.

Go to bed, Kige.

It didn't make sense why they cut that guy. They had 3 FBs in camp, and they were going to keep 2. They cut the guy that was playing the best, rather than the overweight bastard and the UFA from Wisconsin.

They actually did Runnels a favor, though. He's going to be able to get into another training camp and have a chance to make a team. If they would have cut him in the last cuts he would have been SOL as far as getting on a team.

That happens everywhere, Chad, not just the Bengals. Coaches and GMs play lip service to character and what not, but at the end of the day, they'll take Hitler on their team if he would help them win a Super Bowl.

true.

also, while the show made it seem like they cut the FB who was doing best in camp let's not forget the influential powers of film editing.

Exactly

It's not like that kid the Saints cut is really going to take Andre Smith's roster spot. I actually 'd when they said, "He not only took his roster spot, he took his bed."

Child please
