Slightly OT, I saw a meme about that yesterday, "If the earth was truly flat, we'd already have some Russian kids hanging off the edge taking selfies."

It's kind of like the MJ>LBJ for a game winning shot in the playoffs guys. You can tell them Lebron has made more and shoots at a higher rate with the game on the line, but they will claim the "eye test". You know where nostalgia from 20 years ago makes anything today fail to match it. It is what it is.

lebron doesn't have the heart and commitment to the game that Kobe/MJ had

about a year ago i got into it with a guy at the poker table. i said lebron was a better 3 point shooter than kobe and he laughed. i literally googled the stats, showed him, and he still said you couldn't trust stats for something like that

When you say it like that, it sounds like you are saying LeBron is actually a better shooter than Kobe. I'm sure you and no one else believes that. LeBron is a better shot taker than Kobe from 3. LeBron is also dared to take 3s because he is deadly on the drive, so he gets many open 3s. He is a more efficient 3 point shooter than Kobe, but you worded it in a way to get a rise out of him.

What affects me? The fact that there are people who hold such an objectively erroneous viewpoint? It affects me exactly as much as does the existence of the flat-earth society. So, not really that much at all. But certainly enough to go on record that they're full-blown retards as well. They are full-blown retards as well. And I actually like B.o.B's music. So, that's a bummer.

Considering how his game has evolved just over the past five seasons to adapt to the league but also to sure up his "weaknesses" I find this to be a laughable argument when it's presented. With everything he has done to this point Lebron may just now be coming into his own as an All-Around player. His perimeter defense, mid-range, 3 point shooting, and post game are better now than they were three seasons ago and are all at elite levels. That doesn't happen by luck. Throw in his slashing, court vision, and timing and it seems laughable that people attempt to disparage him as anything other than a top 2-3 all-time player with a shot at 1 or 1B when he finally hangs 'em up.

Well the evidence sure doesn't suggest Kobe is better.

Well that's part of shooting. It's like saying a QB with a lower completion percentage is more accurate; he isn't a good "pass chooser." Well that's part of accuracy.

I think you know what I mean and I think you agree with me despite your response so I'm not going to try and argue.

whoa now

lebron peaked in his 2nd to last season in miami (2012-13)

oh i agree. i've argued on here for years that lebron has a seriously underrated work ethic. since he came into the league, the pundits and fans have attacked parts of his game and he has worked to improve them all.

one of the most lulz-worthy arguments against lebron is that he's just this athletic freak and MJ had to work so hard to become great. this completely ignores the fact that MJ was an athletic freak and he came into the NBA with similar issues/questions as LBJ

note: i'm not saying LBJ > MJ, just that the argument is straight up retarded

I don't agree with you anyways. Kobe averaged 0.1 more threes per game, and a lower shooting percentage. So it's not like he was hoisting up a bunch more shots.

LeBron would kill to trade his ugly arse shoot from the left side of his head stroke for Kobe's. Let's be real. This isn't even a discussion.

Huh?

Lebron and Kobe both shot approximately 20% of their shots from 3 for their career, and LeBron is slightly 1% better from 3.

Kobe is a much better mid range shooter than LeBron, much like MJ. Why is LeBron better than both from distance, but inferior as a mid range shooter, who knows, but it's not something to knock.

What? So now we're talking about what the shot looks like, not how it gets the job done?

And for such a wonderful stroke, it's unfortunate Kobe couldn't use that to be a top 10 all time player, especially with his "killer instinct."

Without looking it up, I would imagine that Kobe shoots more from 3 per game for his career. Kobe shot a lot more tough/bad shots than LeBron.

He shot 4.1 compared to LeBron's 4.0 in the regular season. He shot 4.0 compared to LeBron's 4.6 in the playoffs.

he was actually awesome at midrange for a couple years at the end of his time in Miami

but

the reason is he worked on the 3 and not the midrange b/c one is efficient and the other is inefficient
