Kobe is better

The only difference is Kobe didn't get to hand pick his team and wasn't so much of a bitch to where he would leave la to chase rings

Mj and Kobe understood something about being the best ever that LeBron and kid didn't, you can't chase a legacy. You have to build one. LeBron leaving Cleveland will forever put him behind Kobe. Kobe built a team that won two three beats. LeBron basically in my eyes has one ring

That's why no one ever seriously talks bout kareem or wilt in the best ever. You can't chase a legacy

Explain this. What role did Kobe play in the decision making process of acquiring Shaq and Pau Gasol?

Kobe did not win two threepeats. How do you factor in the time period where Kobe was looking to force a trade?

And the Bulls trade only fell apart because Kobe didn't want Luol Deng going the opposite direction to LA.

I'm a Kobe fan, but it's bs to suggest that "legacy chasing" was beneath him.

Whole lot of feels in this without any substance. That's the only way to try to make a case for Kobe, make it about intangible stuff that's unable to be proven or disproven, or point to team accomplishments.

When it comes to isolating value based on their measurable merits, which is what we're doing when we ask who's better, Kobe doesn't have a case vs Lebron.

At the end of the day he stayed. Thsts all that matters

He used his stAtus as leverage to get the Lakers to improve their roster S much as possible

The only difference is he didn't turn into a bitch and run for south beach when Steve nash and Howard didn't work out he stuck that shite out because retiring a Lakers was more important

I bet you think if LeBron shot as much as Kobe his FG% would remain the same.

Do you understand how percentages work? We're not talking a sample size of 20 shots, we're talking a careers worth of shots and Lebron is still that much ahead of Kobe in FG% - there's no rational way to say if Lebron took more shots, his FG% would drop

Lebron shoots high % shots. It's smart and efficient basketball that gives his team a better chance to win. Even if he took more shots, he wouldn't drop to Kobe's level because he isn't the type of player to shoot a fadeaway midrange jumper over two guys because it looks cool every 1 out of 5 times it goes in.

It's kind of hard to run elsewhere when you're in your mid-30s with a torn achilles, busted knee, torn rotator cuff and are still the highest paid player in the league.

Kobe has 5 rings LeBron hAS 3

Kobe has 9 first team all defensive teams LeBron has 5

Kobes career high is the second highest total in an nba game with 81 frick Devon. Booker has a higher career high

LeBron has one scoring title Kobe has 2.

What is crazy is that I have to somehow justify Kobe being a better player than LeBron the numbers speak for themselves

If LeBron can get two more rings ill consider it

I thought LeBron only has 1 ring? Not to mention that Kobe was somehow both player and GM for the Lakers, and as a rookie no less!

3 finals mvps> 2

4 regular season mvps >1.

Will have more points, rebounds, steals, blocks, assist in playoffs and regular season.

Always the best player on his team, never a sidekick like Kobe

rape charges 0 kobe 1 so he does have that going from him

FIFY, that was Chris Paul's MVP. Absolute BS to give it to Kobe just because he hadn't won one yet.

Team stat. Irrelevant when comparing individual players. Lebron has 3 Finals MVP's, Kobe has 2. Advantage Lebron.

Kobe has 9 first team all defensive teams LeBron has 5

Advantage Kobe. Congrats.

Point 3 and you've already reverted to "Kobe scored 81 in a single meaningless game". Not a good sign.

quote:

LeBron has one scoring title Kobe has 2.

Kobe shoots a lot more. Easily explainable.
Lebron has better career PPG, FG%, 3pt %, TS%. Easy advantage Lebron.

Summary - Kobe has more all defensive teams and scored 81 points once! Lebron leads in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, FG%, 3 pt %, TS %, Offensive WS, Defensive WS, WS/48, VORP, MVP's, Final MVP's.

I know that seems a bit overwhelming. This is where you throw in subjective terms that cannot be measured, in order to rationalize with yourself and confirm your own biases. When the measurable proof that Lebron is superior is insurmountable, make up reasons you can still put Kobe above him. Say he's clutch! (Ignore the clutch stats, though). Say he has a killer instinct. Say Lebron is soft.

My ego isn't tied to who is better. Kobe Bryant is just a better player if the came of basketball by any reasonable standard

Who would you rather have the ball with 5 seconds left?

Why can't all world LeBron crack 80% from the three point line

One gets away with double dribbling the other gets away with rape #notonmylevel

Like foreal stasticly Denver gives LeBron the most troubles of any NBA team his career. Is it a coincidence that is where Kobe committed his rape? I think not
