@AdamSchefter: Chargers fear WR Malcom Floyd tore ACL; he's undergoing MRI tonight. SD already has lost WR Danario Alexander to torn ACL.

It seems like every year the number of ACL injuries goes up.

Has anyone seen Robert Meachem being suspicious and showing the other Chargers WRs some new knee stretches?

Monday night's MRI revealed a sprained right knee for Malcom Floyd. Floyd will undergo further testing Tuesday, but the initial results are encouraging. The Chargers "feared" Floyd had torn his ACL, and we can't rule that out just yet. San Diego really can't afford to lose Floyd for the season, though his presence in the lineup isn't going to make or break the Chargers. They have little depth at the position, and every prominent receiver on the roster has some sort of injury history. We should have another update on Floyd tomorrow.

The problem is the guys are to big, fast, and strong. Ligaments can't support them. Working out too much is what is hurting them.

Sometimes they can generate so much force that the ligament gives. It's actually worse in women. Because of the Q angle, they apply more stress to the ligament.

Yeah I don't get that. With all the top notch trainers and doctors they have access to, you'd think they'd be less likely to have these injuries so often. But maybe the year round training they do put their body at greater risks.

Results from NFL front office would probably show that this is evidence of a bounty program.
