No but we aren't talking about putting Rush in jail either

It's a vulgar term. Trying to get ratings by calling for segregation is something completely different. Hell, I get offended when I deal with Black people who want to self-segregate, but that's another story...
Being "offended" by someone implying that (1) you're less intelligent, and (2) implying that because of the color of your skin is totally different from someone using vulgar language.

Yes, but to think ESPN wanted Rush to go as far as he did is to big of a stretch IMO

You mean a way that doesn't make Rush look like a dick right?
And some people wouldn't immediatley take it as race baiting or a racial comment, but I think most black people would take it that way if presented to them as you say it.

No I'm trying to summarize what he said.
Rush said Mcnabb is overrated cause he is black, TRUE OR FALSE?

Anyway, Rush should try to buy the Redskins and then adamantly refuse to change the name on his radio station.
I may have to write him and tell him that.
I may have to write him and tell him that.

Jay Z don't try to divide people, use scare tactics to scare people. Jay Z don't bring up people's race, skin color, religion, political views, etc. That's what some people are opposed too. The NFL UNITES people black, white, hispanic, arab, etc. No matter what your political views are people get along.
you just opened yourself up to a grab bag of people quoting JayZ lyrics and beating you over the head with them. Congrats
quote:
WHen Rush said there should be segregated buses that says a lot. For all I know he probably think sports should be segregated too, I mean a black athlete hit a white athlete recently. He brought up that segregated bus shite to get people riled up and there's a segment of this population that would love to go back to those days.
wow you are dumb
quote:
Referring to an incident in which a white student was beaten by black students on a bus, Limbaugh said: “I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”
it appears using sarcasm and a sardonic style is way over your head
and he went even further mocking the whole story:
quote:
“In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh also said. “I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to the defense of the assailants the way he did his friend Skip Gates up there at Harvard.”
“White Americans are racists who have created what they call free markets that really just enslave the rest of America and her trading partners,” Limbaugh also mocked. “I mean, it was white Americans that ran off Van Jones. No, look, let’s just follow Eric Holder’s advice and not be cowards about all this. Let’s have an open conversation, an honest conversation about all of our typical white grandmothers. You had one, I had one. Obama had one. They’re racists just like our students are. ACORN — hey, nothing but racism fueling the pursuit of ACORN.”
Limbaugh also suggested that racism itself was acceptable.
“If homosexuality being inborn is what makes it acceptable, why does racism being inborn not make racism acceptable?” the talk show host asked. “I’m sorry — I mean, this is the way my mind works. But apparently now we don’t choose racism, we just are racists. We are born that way. We don’t choose it. So shouldn’t it be acceptable, excuse — this is according to the way the left thinks about things.”
that is the jist of all of this: "this is according to the way the left thinks about things"
not a return to segregation

Aren't we watching the media prop up a black politician because it's so cool to see the first black President? Hmmmm, was Rush on to something way back then?

It is a one sided synopsis intended to present things how you want them presented.

Do you really believe Rush said that exactly like you are presenting it?
Rush said that shite to get people riled up. I know what he was doing. I live in an area that's about 2-3% black, very conservative and a lot of idiots in this area loved that idea. They took what he said seriously. They don't want their kids on buses with blacks, don't want their kids associating with blacks and we have a small black population. Rush should watch what he say even if he's joking because people do think like that. Jay Z don't influence people political views, social views, racial views like Rush does.
Can some point me to some of the things Jay Z did or said that divides people?
ETA "right on right on." Yeah he was trying to get whites riled up during that lil segment.

a 3 setnence statement by Rush compared to the Iraq war? lol
I think it is possible to summarize what Rush said very simply, and not possible to summarize why we went to war in Iraq quite so simply.

You don't think that young black men are iunfluenced by rap insofar as how they treat women and how they live their lives? I'm not saying all, but some?

I'm going by what HIS listeners feel in my country backwoods area. How they LIKED that idea. You don't live here, you don't represent 2-3% of the population here.

I have never heard that. In one word, AWESOME!

Yes. Jay-Z raps about watching sex and the city with Beyonce and everyone knows black males are a large core of that shows viewers

Do you think they gave him carte blanche to say whatever he wanted?
it appears they did and then backed away from him
what he said:
quote:
"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well,'' Limbaugh said. "There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."
quote:
Negative reaction did not come immediately. But on Tuesday, McNabb told the Philadelphia Daily News: "It's sad that you've got to go to skin color. I thought we were through with that whole deal."
From there, the firestorm spread quickly. Democratic presidential candidates Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and Rev. Al Sharpton called for ESPN to fire Limbaugh. Others in both political and athletic circles also lashed out at Limbaugh's comments.
The National Association of Black Journalists also called for ESPN to "separate itself" from Limbaugh.
""ESPN's credibility as a journalism entity is at stake," NABJ president Herbert Lowe said in a news release. "It needs to send a clear signal that the subjects of race and equal opportunity are taken seriously at its news outlets."
Limbaugh's statement:
quote:
"My comments this past Sunday were directed at the media and were not racially motivated," Limbaugh said in a statement issued late Wednesday night. "I offered an opinion. This opinion has caused discomfort to the crew, which I regret.
"I love NFL Sunday Countdown and do not want to be a distraction to the great work done by all who work on it.
"Therefore, I have decided to resign. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the show and wish all the best to those who make it happen."
