Another annoying thing about college football now is the amount of consultants on staff

I have no problem with football allowing a couple consultants but I thinks it’s being way over done to the detriment of programs in many regards.
Players don’t need dozens of different “Leaders” overseeing every aspect of their play and giving and opinion to cloud the room with TMI so to speak.
There are so many different levels of consultants now I stopped paying attention.

Did you say the same thing about Saban’s rehabilitation program? Probably not

Those analysts aren’t all coaching on the field.

So you don’t want coaches breaking down film of future opponents for the staff so that they can streamline install? More sets of eyes to help position coaches maybe find any flaw with a player?

I realize that but still are on staff mingling with the team and giving opinions.

It’s not like BK is hiring 8-10 guys off the rant. He’s hiring young and old coaches that are there to assist.

I get it but not a fan of how this has evolved so to speak.
Part of what makes a coach great is doing all the necessary things to prepare your team with X amount of coaches.
Also what used to be fun was making it as fair as possible across the board and this to me is getting out of hand with all these analysts.
I know this isn’t a exactly a new concept but over the last 5 years it’s really grown.

It’s the ones you can’t see that are the most annoying I’ve heard

Of all the things to complain about with the current state of college football, this is what you chose? Analysts with thorough experience lending their opinions is hardly a bad thing. Seemed like it helped Saban for many years.

There has been nothing fair about college football in 75 years.
Bear Bryant, and Alabama, would have 150 players on their team back in the 60’s & 70’s. He’d sign players to Bama, so that he didn’t have to play against him. What’s fair about that???
Louisiana and Georgia have one SEC team, meanwhile Mississippi has two, with 35% less population than Louisiana and 1/4th of the population of Georgia. What’s fair about that???

It actually hasn’t grown. When Saban built his machine, Bama had an army of analysts. When O became coach he said he was going to increase the analyst staff to rival what Bama and Ohio State had. Big schools have had big shadow staffs for a long time

Ahh, another example of someone not knowing what they’re talking about and being wrong, but lodging it as a complaint anyway.

How does this even remotely affect your viewing experience?

College football as we know it is about to collapse under its own weight. The youth don't care about football, and the target demo tends to hate all the changes being made (like who even follows recruiting anymore?). Once the programs break away from the school structure and collectively bargains (which I just assume will happen), it's basically over.

The exact same question can be asked about how NIL and TP affects my viewing experience.
It doesn’t.
But it’s another fundamentally unsustainable effort that has also changed the way I now view the sport to my dissatisfaction, which is why I made the OT.
