I’ve never once seen scoring attached to efficiency. Ever. It’s about getting the ball in the bucket period
If it’s about getting the ball in the bucket, your tries where it doesn’t go in the bucket are indeed negative. You can’t just ignore them

If it takes you 12 shots to score 10 points; you are a bad scorer. Horribly inefficient.
So Bayou Barbie is shooting 41% and Queen Cait is shooting 39%.

So Bayou Barbie is the more efficient scorer of the two. Thanks for the confirmation.

No, CC has a higher effective field goal percentage which takes into account how many points each shot is actually worth. Thanks for confirming you have no clue what you are talking about.

For someone who watches so much ball, you’d think you’d know about the simplest of advanced stats

First you said FG% is the gauge. Here's your quote

Now you want to move the goalposts with "effective" field goal percentage.

Tell me, how effective is a 3-point shooting specialist when she goes 1-for 23?

Shooting a bad percentage from close range is worse than shooting a bad percentage from 3. Brain busting stuff.

You’re a fricking idiot dude

don’t be mingo

You are telling me Kobe and Westbrook were wildy called bad scorers?

Volume shooters that are inefficient but rack up points are always, always, credited with being good scorers

The Westbrook discourse definitely got pretty heated, especially at the back end of his OKC run. You not being aware of it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

As for Kobe, at the end of his career, it’s pretty well agreed upon he was an inefficient scorer, but he was a beloved player. In his prime, he was always high usage, but was decently efficient and played in an era without much scrutiny of advanced metrics. The Kobe arguments would be fascinating if he were playing today.

She’s been pretty bad so far this year, yes. About the same as Reese, except Clark has been hurt and having her worst year between college and pros

1-for-23 isn't efficient from any range.

That is correct. And despite being that bad for that stretch, CC was still somehow more efficient than Reese coming into the day. What an indictment

What a terribly misleading stat. Getting credit for chucking up 3-pointers is ridiculous.

Going into today's game, Bayou Barbie had a better 3-pt% than Queen Cait. It's absurd to give one player more credit for laying endless bricks just because they were shot from 3-pt range.

You said it yourself

That describes Queen Cait's play this year.

Sophomore slump

She also got injured.

She also may be fricking her boyfriend now. It might affect her game for a while.

I believe she's overworked. I know it's her second season, but I'd like to see a break between college and the first WNBA season. That's just too much on a body.

The Dallas coach sat Paige Bueckers in the second game of a back-to-back. Good move.

Hope Queen Cait doesn't go the way of Jackie Stiles (google it).
