The AND1 Mixtape Tour has featured streetball players of fame, including Skip to My Lou, Main Event, The Professor, Hot Sauce, Spyda, 50, and AO. AND1 players have made annual tours around America to recruit the next streetball legend. This recruiting has since been edited for airing as Street Ball on ESPN and ESPN2. It is also parodied in the movie Like Mike 2: Streetball as "Game On".

Does it simply not fit today’s game or just lost steam with popularity?

Street Ball was an amazing show

AO should have been on an NBA roster back in the day. He would definitely be in the league nowadays.

Skip to my Lou. Not only did he originate the And 1 mixtape by being all of Vol. 1, he later had a long NBA career.

Skip/Rafer was a great streetballer and a legit player to boot.

To answer this, it got to be too much of a parody of itself.

It's like the NBA Allstar game. It's more fun when people are legit trying to defend. In the early And 1 days, the games were legit and defenders were trying.

Later on, the legitimacy faded and it was more like a sideshow.

I had a friend who tried out for the And 1 mixtape tour in Oakland. There were thousands of people there.

The Professor. He was hilarious to watch. STML was actually a good player.

Street ballers don’t fit with the current NBA. Most NBA players now have probably never played street ball as adults or even as high schoolers
