Dave Bartoo, analytics guru of college football, has predicted every single playoff committee ranking for 3 yrs (all 25 spots) within 1 spot. He says he's almost certain the committee is using a business formula to calculate the rankings.

He says Fresno State winning this weekend equals a top 25 win for Bama which will put them in.

Also says Auburn is a 1 point favorite to win.

In no matter what? Even if Wisconsin and Oklahoma both win? I find that hard to believe. The 3rd-party Fresno State win would still pale in comparison to actually beating Ohio State, TCU, Auburn/Georgia, and Clemson/Miami this weekend, no?

You know, I hope Bama does make it in. It seems like they need this if their playoff hopes really hinge on what Fresno State does.

Maybe if Wisconsin or Oklahoma (or Clemson maybe?) loses... but if all three of those teams win, then the SEC champ is in and Bama isn't going to pass anyone up. I doubt they would even take a spot from Miami if Miami beats Clemson.

If Miami bests Clemson and Bama steals that spot, the entire committee should be fired.

Nah. If Fresno State beats Boise State twice in two weeks, clearly Bama gets to claim the Mountain West Conference championship. No way you leave out an 11-1 Alabama with a conference championship.

steals which spot? The ACCChamp is in no matter waht.

Bama's only hopes are with OU and/or Wisc losing, period.

That Fresno win is so fricking pointless.

Would Fresno go on the road and beat any of these playoff type teams?

Here we are again with Bama pimping their quality loss.

Bama is going to sit at home while other teams play very difficult opponents. Bama would have a difficult time beating TCU and Ohio State at a neutral site but they don't even have to. They get to watch other teams try to do it.

Maybe you should look at the comment I was responding to?

2 sides to every coin. UGA, Miami, and Ohio State get the privilege of trying to improve thier resume while bama can do nothing

Didn't matter in 2011.

This is BCS thinking. A Fresno State win is complete irrelevance for the CFP.

Is there any doubt that Bama is the best team in the nation? Who would you honestly take over Bama neitral site with no point spread?

Yes

You can make very valid arguments for Clemson, OU, and Auburn.

Clemson maybe, Auburn obviously can play with them. Bama would hang 50 on OU's shitty defense.
