Latino has always been a better legion coach than prep. He's a hack. Congrats to Jesuit but I wouldn't be surprised if we never hear about this kid again.

Every pitcher at Tulane seems to need surgery, so he should fit right in.

Absolutely horrible.......Too bad the parents allow it to happen.

Thats what gets me, how do you let your kid throw 16 innings in a game, and 38 innings in a week long tournament?

It was 38 innings from Aug 9th to Aug 21.

Aug 09, 9 innings, 100 pitches
Aug 13, 9 innings, 101 pitches
Aug 17, 11 innings, not listed
Aug 21, 9 innings 105 pitches

My brother plays centerfield for that team and right for the state championship squad. Gibbs is the type of pitcher that can throw forever, great mechanics, not alot of tourque and is not a power arm type. Latino did not throw a kid like Keller nearly as much due to the type of pitcher he is. I would not have believed this if I had not seen this develop myself and just looked at the stats. American Legion has a pitch count so it was over a larger period of time then most think. Congrats to those kids and let it be known that roster is full of Tiger fans for what it's worth.

One thing in his favor is he has excellent mechanics and is not a real hard thrower. He does a good job of using his entire body and has great control...but he has thrown a ton of innings the last 2 years. We'll see how he holds up, I'm hoping it's no issue. His older brother had a rubber arm also.

I was getting ready to post this. Gibbs is a lot like Greg Maddux in the sense that he'll be able to pitch forever. He doesn't really stress his body very much per pitch.
