I think the XFL folds. Might not even have a game. AAF has a big head start and more credibility from the start. Some teams might be added to the AAF though....

Good stop. Now time for Memphis to get ahead with a TD.

Good to see South Alabama Jaguar Braeden Bowman getting a few catches.

Hope this league does well.

Wondering if they'd eventually go the route of the NFL/AFL--merge into a single league with two "sides." And, a Superbowl type playoff for an overall winner.

AAF also had it's player sign two year deals and they only get released if an NFL team wants them. They can't jump to the CFL or XFL next year so long as they don't get cut.

That's probably why the XFL is acting like they might take kids out of high school.

Opening weekend jitters and faster play clock may have something to do with the offenses. Let them settle in and this could be a good league. The pace itself is very different.

These dudes need to stop pretending the lack of a kickoff is what is speeding up the game play.

It's faster b/c we aren't getting crushed with a million commercial breaks and the play clock is shorter. I'm not sure why they feel the need to pretend killing the kickoff is doing anything for pace.

The pace is awesome, no kick offs and going straight into the game after commercial was outstanding.

You have to do it, the lines have had zero time to gel.

QBs would be getting killed if you didn't have it.

Birmingham is the much better team.

I love having announcing crews that aren’t promoting a whole bunch of other shite or talking about shite irrelevant to the game at hand.

I enjoyed last nights game a lot but this has been a pretty crappy game so far. Casual fans will lose interest in this quick.

Vince is gauging what the fans like and what works and what doesn’t. He will probably take what the AAF starts and perfect it.

The XFL will have scraps to work with it. Plus the AAF has the support of the NFL. All of these guys want to go to the NFL

Again, lack of kickoffs is doing nothing for pace. It's all about the lack of commericals and faster play clock. A kickoff is still a live play. It's not like losing one live play is going to make the game go that much faster.

When do we get a fantasy football format for these new leagues? Or does that already exist?

I just found out that this is a thing and I think I like it. It's not good football by any means, but it's scrappy and I like that.

Completely agree. In NFL games, we get 5 mins of commercials between kickoffs and first snap.
