Well, I'm glad the Cousins shite is over, but Smith for four years might be miserable quickly.

I guess Washington is hoping that the sheer number of Cousins bidders will retain his value? Seems as if this forfeits any leverage they had as now everyone knows there's no chance they franchise him.

This will help us strengthen the team in other areas

Draft a QB for the future and let him sit and learn

Leverage for what? They weren't going to franchise tag him again...maybe transition tag

Smith just threw for 4k yards 26 TDs only 5 INTs and led the league in QB rating.

And people still shite on him like he’s Geno Smith or something. Amazing.

I wonder if WAS gave up more or less than what the Niners gave up for Jimmy G

Washington had no leverage. This is a “we don’t want to pay Kirk Cousins $30M” deal.

Love it as a Skins fan. It’s past time to move on from that shite.

The #Chiefs traded QB Alex Smith to the #Redskins for a 2018 third-round pick and a player to be named tomorrow, sources say. Solid return, regardless of who the player is.

Mortreport

On the agreement in principle. Alex Smith will average $23.5 million per year in new money on the extension and $70 million in guarantees. Nobody will be able to review that contract for awhile because officially there is no contract.

He's solid. But has a clear ceiling that he's been bumping his head on for a few years

Goes from 1st overall pick, then traded for two 2nd Rd picks, and finally for a 3rd and a player.

Guess he has held his value reasonably well...

If they are shelling out this cash, why not just pay Cousins?

Why?

He’s terrible vs Dallas and his contract would cripple the Skins
