That's not really the point. Again, if done correctly, the play should have just gone on and he should have scored. Instead, the ump called it dead thus giving Toronto no chance to defend the play. Once the ump calls it dead, someone is getting screwed. Either texas because the ump fricked up the rules of the game, or Toronto because the ump calls it dead but then counts the run.
