We get it bro, you’re here to justify your team’s horrible decision to take a quarterback with a top ten pick after spending $100 million on another one a couple of months ago
Aren’t you the same poster that mocked LSU and Saints fans for being homers?
Clown

SBD is going to be a two-time Biden voter, which is about all that needs to be said.

MSB ain’t gonna like that comment

It’s funny watching every team who drafted a QB (my own team included) has to come up with the silliest reasons for why they “knew” their guy was the pick.
He was electric at dinner, he demanded to split the check etc always something
And Payton’s “everything in his book sack was about football” might take the cake for the absurdity
Vikings one is pretty funny given they were desperately trying to trade up for a different QB for the past 4 months as well

Wrong, you tranny loving bitch.
I voted for Trump in 2020 and have no plans on voting for either in November.
Poor gotcha attempt.
Now go enlist for Putin's army.

It’s not well written..
If Cousins plays two years and you try to hand it off to Penix, you have a grossly overpaid QB who is 37 and you will have to cut him and eat a massive portion of his contract; preventing you from signing good players around Penix.
No one is trading for 37 year old Cousins.
You didn’t draft Penix to have him sit for 4 years so he won’t be around to start if Cousins plays 4 years of the contract he just signed.
Wasted pick because if Cousins has another major injury, you still have the $180 mil contract in your hands; see the first paragraph.

Football player Bo Nix came to a football workout with football coaches with football things in his bag. IT BLEW THE BRONCOS AWAY

In our defense, it’s been almost a decade since a real quarterback has been in the building. Wouldn’t take much to impress anyone.

I don’t have to read the article you clown. You’ve been one of the MAYBE 3 people here defending this pick
Why didn’t you address my comment about you being a hypocrite?

Steeler I'm not going to talk anti-Penix smack here to you ... as I've said in other posts about this, people dogging his potential is simply from the fact that this is an LSU-centric site and he was the competition to their guy who (rightfully IMO) won the Heisman and they want to keep it going and not let it go and move on after the thing was decided in their guy's favor ... but I still don't see paying Cousins what they paid him and then drafting Penix. It's a very high risk but also potentially very high return strategy, We'll see in five years where it goes, theyre the ones who will have to live with the consequences if the risks outweigh the returns.

It was definitely unconventional. And b/c it went against what most people thought was going to or supposed to happen, those same people are up in their feelings.
It's turned into a mob mentality.

Laughing is the only feeling people are “into” in this situation

The mob being people who can see how dumb it is to set your assets on fire like this vs falcon fans looking for a reason to make sense of an objectively bad roster management decision

Going for it 4th and less than 5 every time is “unconventional”. Sometimes doing something unexpected is just stupid. This is one of those cases. It’s a sport with a 53 man roster and a salary cap. It’s the one position where you can’t have 2 players, it doesn’t work and not because the “mob” says so. All this bs about “hedging” or insurance is just excuses.

How can such highly paid, supposedly intelligent people not be aware of their own confirmation bias? Minnesota “loved” Mcarthy. And the Broncos analytics told them Nix was the best QB available! No wonder these teams get so many picks so wrong. Peyton has hitched his horse to Nix and he’ll be a slightly better Tebow. Mcarthy will be awful. He averaged less than 200 yards passing per game last year.

That's like saying investing in Enron after it collapsed was unconventional.
It was a retarded financial decision that guaranteed you won't have a cheap rookie contract as the main QB payment i.e. the method that has proven to be the best way to win a Super Bowl.
It's funny how you can never handle saying that your team made a dumb decision.

The Steelers drafted Penix?
Posted on 4/30/24 at 7:08 pm to WyattDonnelly
For the record, The Athletic’s “NFL insider” ranked the QBs taken in the first round as Williams, McCarthy, Daniels, Maye, Penix and Nix. I think that is defensible.
My only issue with people in these discussions is the ones saying Penix is hot garbage and will be a bust. I think he’s going to be excellent. It’s not a zero sum game, there can be more than one great QB.
I’m absolutely on board with questioning the allocation of resources here. There’s nothing the matter with signing Cousins and there’s nothing the matter with drafting Penix — individually. Doing both is the wild hair move.
