THANK YOU! Play Football in September! Just Call it a protest!
According to some it may not be safe to play Football until 2023 as they cower in the fetal position

Baton Rouge, Auburn, Gainesville, Starkville, etc would be devastated if fans could not attend games or even at limited capacity.
Acc schools like Tallahassee would be screwed too

This is exactly why Ivy League cancelled their season but the P5 will move mountains to make football happen.

The more I see the economic impacts of not playing college football, the more and more hypocritical I see people who argue against players making money off name, image, and likeness to be

Because it helps bars restaurants and hotels?

No because they are the foundations of a $2,000,000,000 revenue stream for a local economy. They should be able to make money off of who they are.

Nah. They can start their own professional developmental league then.
Let college stay amateur and actually have the players be students again. College football needs to take a 20-30 year leap backwards.

You’ll definitely hate to see it when it happens to everyone else, too. It won’t just be The University of Alabama, the City of Tuscaloosa, or the State of Alabama.

Right. People giddy over hard working Americans losing their livelihood because the football team in that town usually beats their favorite football team

I hope Tuscaloosa and the rest of these college towns have a plan, because there won’t be football this fall.

There is no logical plan short of receiving bailout money. This will have the same impact on college football towns that the oil spill had on beach towns. You can't just up and replace the largest sector of your economy by a wide margin in 3 months.

All P5 schools have ultra wealthy donors and huge reserves, they will be fine.
What I hope comes from this, is that salaries of coaches and athletics comes back to some kind of more normal scale.

The schools will be fine, yes. The point of the OP is that the cities will suffer tremendously. For a place like tuscaloosa, it means a reduction of nearly 1 million people coming to town and spending money. That's substantial

Non-revenue sports will be cut. What happened at Stanford will happen just about everywhere else. Those big endowments are earmarked for specific funds and projects, not athletics.

I am impressed with your dedication and commitment to there being no season
Everyone else is wish casting a season but I will give you credit for not wavering

It’s the phases thing. Denial, depression, bargaining, and acceptance. I guess 1999 is in the acceptance phase. I’m almost there.
