@MattMoscona

Just saw that dude at the vet. CSB.

Anywho, the die hard fans have been in hiding for far too long. THIS is what we've been waiting for, since that damn sweep by the White Sox in '05. Playing with house money at this point, so I hope they enjoy the hell out of it

Don't know if it was the "playing with house money" aspect of it, or me mellowing with age, or the young disposition of the team, or the Kid on the mound last night, but I was as relaxed as I have ever been watching an Astros playoff game.

Lance zierlien captures 10 minutes of club Astros last night. Vertical video so expand your screen to make it full. I love this

Wow. Now that's a sausage fest.

Seriously, this video is a complete fabrication. Total Lie.

Cosart and Bud Norris both said that the locker room is Toxic because Luhnow doesn't care about his team and everyone had a "me first" mentality.

Where are those guys anyway?... they must not drink because I didn't see them one single time in that video.

Whatever it was, tell us your secret. I was farting diamonds all last night and that's even after drinking a ton of bourbon.

I got pretty drunk watching the game and I was still so damn nervous all the way up to the final out. Today is a great day.

Strangely enough, I actually heard a Bud Norris story the other day. Here was his quote:

quote:

Over at USA Today, Jorge L. Ortiz has an interesting piece on MLB's ongoing culture clash between Latin-born players and U.S.-born players. Ortiz determined the percentage of brawls that featured players of different ethnicities as the primary combatants, and the figure he came up with is fairly shocking. Give it a full read.

In the course of Ortiz's piece, he quotes pitcher Bud Norris, who gives voice to a decidely "old-school" perspective on this matter, possibly the extremes of that perspective:

“I think it's a culture shock,'' Norris said. “This is America's game. This is America's pastime, and over the last 10-15 years we've seen a very big world influence in this game, which we as a union and as players appreciate. We're opening this game to everyone that can play. However, if you're going to come into our country and make our American dollars, you need to respect a game that has been here for over a hundred years, and I think sometimes that can be misconstrued. There are some players that have antics, that have done things over the years that we don't necessarily agree with.

“I understand you want to say it's a cultural thing or an upbringing thing. But by the time you get to the big leagues, you better have a pretty good understanding of what this league is and how long it's been around.'

"10-15 years" lmao

I'd call this a hot take but I don't think something this old could retain heat

I wonder what he thinks about those newfangled Euros invading our basketball

last night I forgot to send a suck it out to Peter Gammons

If I'm an ALE or ALC owner, Houston's plan to have no payroll, lose, get the 1-2 pick 4 years in a row and still steal revenue-sharing $may guarantee 3 teams in the AL West win 90 games and make the playoffs, and spit on the integrity of the sport. Fellow big market teams who have payrolls under $40M should 1.not get revenue-sharing and 2. be out of the protected pick business. Rewarding trying to lose is wrong

SUCK IT! Would have only been better if we had ended the season of his shitty Red Sox last night. Too bad they're in last place again. Biased old hack.

He wanted them to spend 200 million and still compete for the number one pick several years in a row like Boston
