AFC & NFC Playoff Scenario Chart for Week 18

Credit to Twitter user @Ivan_Urena1 for this pretty neat visual chart for all scenarios for playoff seeding
First up, the NFC. About 32 different combinations.
And then the AFC. All 256 different combinations.

Cincinnati just needs to beat Cleveland and have Buffalo beat The Jets and they are the 1 seed?

They would need the Titans to lose to the Texans as well

What they need to do is create another chart that takes into account the probability of teams to beat one another (via spreads or any other predictive tool).

For Cincy to get the 1 Seed, they have to beat Cleveland PLUS the following:
Kansas City loss
AND
Tennessee loss
AND Either
Buffalo win
OR
New England loss
The AFC is so wild that you have New England with an opportunity to be either the 1 Seed or the 7 Seed.

I really hope you didn't sit around and do this yourself.

I know he put the no tie clause in their already, but did read an article the other day that talked about how funny it would be if the league moving LV v LAC to Sunday backfired on the league. Essentially, if Indy loses to Jax, there may be no incentive for LV & LAC to run a play. The winner gets in as the 6 seed, and loser could be out. Edit: if they tie, both teams would get in So, could be just 60 minutes of kneeling the ball
Also, if Jax & Balt win, LV clinches anyway so they'll just sit players

I fail to see how there is no incentive?

Because I'm a dumbass that forgot to include the statement that if they tie, both would get in

Do all the division winners like Dallas, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati all sit their QBs? I guess Cincinnati can still get the 1 seed although a long shot.

Every one of them has a shot at improving their playoff position and locking up home field advantage through at least the divisional round. Why would any of them sit their QB?
Tampa and Dallas have a shot at the 2 seed, just like Cincy has a shot at the 1 Seed. If you are okay with going on the road at any point before the conference championship, then sure, sit them down. But I don't see how any of them view going on the road in the divisional round as easier than playing at home.
As far as the Vegas/LA game goes, I just can't see 2 divisional rivals rolling over and accepting a tie so that both teams get in the playoffs. But damn would that be funny if they did. How does the NFL respond in that scenario?

Didn’t think about the 2 seed having home field up until the conference championship game. That’s an incentive to play everyone. Would be nuts if Jacksonville defeats Indy. The NFL probably would fine both LAC and LV if they decided just to kneel the ball.

I don't know which outcome would be crazier this weekend, but a Denver win Saturday would make the entire weekend wild.
Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, and Miami are probably the most interesting teams this weekend, because they can really throw the entire playoff picture into chaos.
