Manning and Brady wouldn't reach the 20 yard line in their prime. Check out this launch angle:

when watching on tv it looked as if the ball went straight up.

I was like ,WTF that ball is going to come down ten yards from where he threw it.

Manning, no
Brady, he did it in the last game throwing a deep ball to Lafell. And did it all season long throwing to Moss. he can sling it 60+.

Everyone talks about how great the play was.
The Lions had the best jump ball player to probably ever play the game on the sidelilnes, and only had 5 guys in the endzone, same as the Packers.
It was as if it was 11 on 9 b/c the Lions had two guys that didn't rush and didn't go to the endzone, just staying around 10 yards off the LOS doing nothing.
Terrible terrible hail mary defense by the Lions. No one went to the ball, they all sat in the back of the enzone and watched it.
The two morons doing nothing for the Lions should have been running with the Packer WR's so they could have the same view and angle at the ball as the WR's.

Manning could throw 60 yards in his prime. I watched him do it at the Manning Passing Academy. But it didn't have the air under it that Rodgers did. No question Rodgers has a much stronger hard, but 68 yards is not out of this world for an NFL QB. At the passing skills competition they used to put on at the pro bowl, Jeff Blake and Brett Favre would throw it close to 80 yards. Every single QB threw it at least 60 yards..

There are several that can, including both QBs last night. Great throw for sure. He gave his team a chance and Rodgers went up and got it. Him having enough time to wind up and throw it was key. Most of the time guys are close to being hit when throwing those. Detroit made a mistake by only rushing 3.

No biggie, I mean most people on here and the OT can throw a pro football 65+ yards.

You don't know what the offense is going to do in that situation. You have to prepare for them to check down and try a Stanford Band play.

When all eligible receivers run towards the endzone, follow them. I wouldn't' be to worried about Rodgers and 5 lineman trying to pitch a ball around.

So have a man assigned to each eligible WR. Play off of them obviously so you can easily be behind them if they go 50 yards downfield, but you can follow any WR that cuts his route short.

I'm no coach, but that seems way more logical than having 2 useless players for the way GB ran the play.
