It’s a great post and makes a great point

Thank you, Walt. I wasn’t breaking any news. Neither was Murray. It was just a different way to frame the argument that I thought was interesting. I flipped back and forth between the games, but didn’t really listen to either broadcast. My biggest takeaway was Michigan’s offense was very mid and Florida State’s defense was fricking dominant.

But I concede that I watched more B1G football this year than any other I can remember, and my takeaway was just how terrible their offenses were. It could be that their defenses were just that good, but that’s not what it appeared to me. But I could be be wrong. I have the self-awareness to concede that the committee lacks that I don’t “know” shite, as much as I thinks I do.

Not the other 90% of the playoff's existence. The first 9 years they were completely objective and selected based on resume only. Not the subjective "eye test" or who would hypothetically beat who. This year they did the exact opposite

This is a great point. The previous committees were much more fluid, changing the ranking as new data points presented themselves each week. This particularly committee didn’t do that, they dug their heels in, and lacked the balls to concede the fact that some weeks they simply gong and weren’t willing to admit to it and adjust like previous committees. Their absolute arrogance painted themselves in corners that they couldn’t logically get themselves out of while being consistent . They talked out of both sides of their mouths. And the sad thing was that it was so avoidable.

Bama fan calling anything biased is so ironic.

So, it’s a chicken or egg thing. Does the media have the power to sway the committee

Yes, it's the same shite that happened in 07, 11, and 14. They push who they want in and make it happen.

Watching the SEC champ game, I thought it was a sloppy game with two offenses that were completely out of sync.

Hold up, are you suggesting that UGA and not LSU should've played Ohio State in 07?

Nope, I'm saying that's how the media projected it.

Iowa never had Deion Sanders though. It’s one thing to put guys in the NFL, but it’s another to put guys that casual fans can name

Lulz. Dion Sanders played at Florida state like 35 years ago. Iowa has had 6 first round picks in the last 5 drafts. They’ll likely have another in April.

Florida State has 2 in that same span.

Iowa never crossed the 50 yard line

Iowa had the ball in FG range and fumbled on 3rd down that was likely going to be converted.

Florida that their chances of making the 4 team playoff were diminished to the point of being unrealistic. FSU didn't blow out Florida or Louisville, so, the commentator's prediction was spot-on, once Bama beat GA.

So bama squeaking by Auburn doesn’t mean anything?

Why do y’all use one set of parameters to judge one team, yet a completely different one tk judge another team? Makes no fricking sense

That's an awful use of a hyperbole and invidates that part of his argument. Though the broader point is valid

Not sure how this is even remotely relevant since there were ZERO undefeated teams that year. One loss West Virginia goes that year instead of LSU except they lost to 25 point underdog Pittsburgh the last week of the season.

So you don't see how the SEC gets special consideration in the playoffs? Let me help.

In the history of the 2 team BCS playoff, and the history of the 4 team playoff, we are talking entire history here, LSU is the one and the only one that has ever gotten to the playoff with 2 losses.

Now, don't you feel special?

As soon as the wrong team won the "Game of the Century", the first question to the winning coach after the game was "would you play this team in a rematch?".
They’d have asked Les the same thing had LSU lost it in the same fashion.

Both of those teams were clearly as elite as it gets

I miss the old days when you could obliterate a pussy QB like Murray without consequence.

If you play for Bama, you can target and horse collar whoever you please without consequence.

Cool story. Now explain to everyone how LSU managed to make the BCS in 2007 with 2 losses?

You really are an obtuse idiot.

LSU was fortunate that year being the highest rated 2 loss team. They also did something Bama didn't do in 2011: They won the SECCG.

Every thread you make 10 different points. It is hilarious to watch you contort your bullshite.
