Likely no:

Lebron
Durant
Curry
Holiday
Not sure Embiid will play for the US again, he mentioned maybe playing for Cameroon

So you’ve got 4-5 guys that were essential and played big minutes.

Need to get some young guys to step up at home in 28.

Embid’s body can’t even hold up through the playoffs anymore and looked out of shape in these Olympics, no chance he plays for anyone in 2028. Wouldn’t be shocked if he is retired by 2028 Olympics.

Kinda hard to really see where these guys are 4 years out

Imagine saying Ant would play a major role this go around in 2020

But this is definitely looking like the weakest US generation in a long time

Guys like Edwards, Halliburton, Brunson, Holmgren, Maxey and Cunningham will be leading us in LA. Who knows who else will step up between now and then.

Zion is basically perfect for fiba ball. If he can do what he did last year and stay healthy he will likely be on it.

Giant if.

I mean I can think of no better ambassador to the world than one who has strong beliefs in our constitutional freedoms. The games are on our turf we need to showcase our freedom to the world

I’ll probably go if Mitchell Robinson makes the team…

Reading my mind. I have been sitting here thinking about summer 2028 and what it will look like. Thought about starting a thread to ask.

This is now, who will be next:

The older players that played big minutes also didn’t have long playoff runs. I think having more rest leading up to the Olympics definitely helped them play big minutes.

The LA Olympics are scheduled to start on July 14, 2028. That’s going to be quick turnaround for any NBA players on deep playoff runs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if LeBron retires within 4 years but plays in the Olympics. Would be hard to turn down. Especially with the lack of leadership once the old guard is gone.

Olympics in LA, Lebron gonna take a year off in 2027 and then be a player and coach for 2028 while averaging 10/5/5 in the Olympics.

We will need some new players for sure. I think we will find them and have another great team though.

This was Steph’s first Olympics.
