Just be thankful that the 2020 BAMA team didn't decide to put a 100 on you.
Maybe you can join in the next discussion, since your team isn't involved in this topic.

My bad for giving you that attention you craved, that's on me.
Let's get back on topic now.

2020 Bama honestly should be considered at the table IMHO, but it never will be because of these two things:
It comes one year after 2019 lsu, who just happens to be a better version of 2020 Bama. Better qb, better receivers
And the covid restrictions

Yeah, you need to hurry and get back to your science class.

Lol. LSU would roll Nebraska with whatever rules you want.
beat Nebraska? i agree, probably so.
roll them? no way. especially if game is officiated like it was in ‘95
defenses were far more physical back then. DBs got away with all sorts of hand checking, grabbing, etc. Plus you could just decapitate a “defenseless” receiver to jar the ball loose and not even get a flag, let alone an ejection.
plus that Nebraska option offense would eat up a shite ton of clock keeping the score low by simply keeping ball away from Burrow.
ultimately i think LSU prevails in the game.
but it would be a dogfight to pull it off.

Yet you can break 2001 Miami down to the last :30 in a game vs Va Tech lol
Surely you can see the poor logic of this exercise

I think the 2019 LSU is the best college football team ever… my opinion… but that Miami defense not going just cower to the challenge though

This thread has gone sideways due to bama phaggotry. Let’s steer the discussion back to pertinent things by reflecting on the fact that Nebraska’s opponents returned a grand total of five (5) punts in the 1995 season.

quote:I'd argue this doesn't give Nebraska the advantage you think it does. That LSU team rarely benifited from pass interferance or penalties in the defensive backfield. In addition, the weakest link on the entire LSU defense was Kary Vincent, who would also be the fastest player on the field. If you let a player like him grab a WR more, he'd be much more successful.
defenses were far more physical back then. DBs got away with all sorts of hand checking, grabbing, etc.
quote:Again, this wasn't something that LSU ever really dealt with besides the Clemson LB ejection in the title.
Plus you could just decapitate a “defenseless” receiver to jar the ball loose and not even get a flag, let alone an ejection.
The LSU offense never really put themselves in positions where "over the middle" plays would effect the game. They dominated man to man defenses and found holes in zone defenses where receivers would sit instead of running 8 yard drags over the middle.
quote:This I agree with. A couple 3 and outs for LSU could change the entire game with how worn out the defense would be.
plus that Nebraska option offense would eat up a shite ton of clock keeping the score low by simply keeping ball away from Burrow.
Another advantage LSU would have is the fact that they ran a HUNH that never subbed, that would give those bigger players of the 90s fits.

Those 50/50 balls 2019 LSU lived off of
Boy, there's no such thing as a 50/50 ball when Burrow throws to Chase or Jefferson.

You've only disagreed with Pride, I don't think you've given a single rebuttal yet.

There's probably a long list of national champs who never had 1 game that close in the 4th
The last 20 or so years that’s objectively not true. Almost every undefeated champion has had at least one arse-clinchingly close game
•2001 Miami: Mentioned Earlier
•2002 Ohio State: OT Win in controversial fashion in the Championship
•2005 Texas: Ohio State early in the year and Classic USC game
•2009 Bama: Blocked field goal versus Tennessee at the buzzer and last minute TD @Auburn
•2010 Auburn: Lived on the edge all year and last second field goal in the championship
•2013 Florida State: National Championship vs Auburn
•2018 Clemson: Late rally to beat Syracuse at home
Other than 2019 LSU and 2020 Bama, I’m not seeing any undefeated BCS/Playoff era champions that never had a late 4th quarter 50/50 game. The most in doubt LSUs perfect season came was I guess that 3rd and long late in the 4th at Texas. For Bama it was Ole Miss tying the game up in the early 4th

Sorry, but fan bases just can't help themselves when they have 18 NCs. But then, how could you possibly know that?

Now of those teams you listed glorious, how many had a best win ranked higher than #8?
