Lebron in the game where he got "bailed out" by Ray Allen: 32/10/11
For shits and giggles, Lebron in game 7 to win the series: 37/12/4
ETA: And don't forget that MJ never had other players on his team hit big shots in crucial moments of Finals games!!!!

MJ
6 Finals (out of 6)
6 Finals MVPs (out of 6)

So long as the "Ray Allen bailed out Lebron" narrative is still in play.
It's not tho...

Well shite, Bill Russell won 11 titles in 13 years. I guess he must be leaps and bounds better than Jordan on the court.
Aside from "6-6", what is Jordan better at in basketball than LeBron?

John Paxon, game 6, 1993 says you're a liar.
Not surprising since most Jordan backers live on nostalgia alone and mostly have no idea what they are talking about.

I'm a Jordan backer but I know even that statement is dumb.

You realize that was sarcasm and what you referenced (along w/ Kerr) was exactly what I was referring to, right?
ETA: I thought the content of my post, the post I was responding to, and the multiple exclamation points gave it away

How about times dropping 50 points in a playoff game?
Lebron: 0
Jordan: 8
Jordan has more playoff games scoring 50 than playoff games scoring under 20
Lebron averaged 17.8 points against the fricking Mavericks in 2011

Apparently not.

Jordan is a more prolific scorer. No surprise.
LeBron's all around game is pretty good though.

That was terrible sarcasm sir

MJ dropped 63 on the C's and lost.
Hell of a game.
Hell of a game.

Id say so, scoring 63 points on the celtics in the midst of their shared reign with the Lakers in Jordan's 3rd season is pretty impressive, Celtics just had a better team
However, Lebron, in his 8th season, alongside DWade and Chris Bosh, averaged 17.8 in the Finals and lost to an obviously lesser opponent

quote:63 points is impressive, but it was in a first round losing sweep, losing by almost 14 points per game. And he ended the series (following game) with 19 points.

So LeBron is the GOAT because he has more of some made up trifecta?
Makes sense
Exactly, it's just nonsense.
LeBron is great because of who he is and he's as great on how many championships he won.
This effort to turn the NBA into Sabre -merics? is a joke.
As that great Bird Magic doc Illustrated.
"We didn't care about stats, or scoring it was all about winning."
If LeBron keeps winning like Jordan and Magic nobody can deny.
And LeBron can keep winning. But get to the conversation before we have the conversation of GOAT.
Just win baby.

I understand this, my point was that people keep making up stats saying like 30/5/5 or something, but that goes with a players system or position
Jordan basically averaged a triple double during a 24 game stretch of playing point guard, if he did that instead of playing off ball, he could've had better stats than LeBron all around
I just don't like people reducing down stats as the end all be all when stats are skewed based on position and system
