With a late-inning pinch-hit appearance in an eventual loss to Bryant, Brown University freshman Olivia Pichardo made college baseball history. After she stepped to the plate, Pichardo became the first woman ever to appear in a Division I college baseball game:

Why is this a thing? This isn’t like a girl playing football because they don’t have the sport. They can play softball. Leave it to the Ivy League to destroy America.

What was the outcome? I’m guessing she struck out since they don’t mention anything.

Baseball is the easiest sport for a girl to play and compete.

Who cares as long as they don't change the rules for lesser athletes or give anyone an unfair advantage.

Also, baseball =/= softball as much as you would like it to be for this comparison.

Well if this isn't a bunch of bullshite I don't know what is. You think hitting a 95 mph fastball followed by a 85 mph curve ball is easy to do for anybody? My guess is she looked absolutely foolish.

Yeah it’s a less taxing sport physically and puts less wear and tear on the fragile female body.

It was a ground out to first but she made solid contact. she looked pretty fast too. I expected her to look foolish as well

That’s what I’m talking about. That’s the natural motion of the shoulder. That’s why pitchers can pitch every day.

If she had been hit by a pitch, would the dugout have emptied?

I mean baseball and softball are different enough that I get the draw. It’s not like they’re changing rules for her.

ETA: im less annoyed by this than the vandy kicker with the dump truck

I truly hope the majority of yall don't have daughters. Jesus Christ. "Dad, I have a chance to make history and play in a D1 baseball game!"

"you stupid woke bitch! you better not! you don't know anything about sports, you girl!"
