The tip to The Ringer came from a Twitter account going by the name Enough Sixers (@Sixersenough). He asked for a follow from Detrick on 1/31/18 so he could send him a DM about an article.
Detrick followed him, and the rest is history.

I certainly hope the 4 non- confirmed are him, but I would not underestimate the ability of an interwebz savvy autist with an agenda to successfully frame.

They would have to be very savvy, to the point that they knew the writer contacted the Sixers and Colangelo when it happened.

True, but there are some things that are so blatant that they almost raise a red flag, such as the live tweeting of his son's basketball games.

I just realized that we won't get an Inside the NBA segment on this and now I'm sad

That's true, but older people still don't fully "get" social media.
He should blame it on Ambien like Roseanne.

regardless of the actual truth, i'd bet the 76ers "investigation" will result in one or more of colangelo's family members taking the blame for the other 4 burners

Honestly as much as if love to see him get shitcanned, i think at least 70% he survives this.
Unfortunately nothing in the article was a real "smoking gun". It all makes sense, but it's hardly concrete.

there are two smoking guns:
1) the 3 accts not mentioned to the 76ers by detrick immediately went private before the article published
quote:
That afternoon, within hours of the call, all three of the accounts I hadn’t discussed with the team switched from public to private, effectively taking them offline—including one (HonestAbe) that hadn’t been active since December
2) many of the tweets revealed private team business, injury info, trade info, etc. real inside information that only someone connected to colangelo or the 76ers would be privy to
quote:
The accounts also share what could be considered 76ers’ proprietary information—including the 76ers plan to acquire the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft from the Boston Celtics—and disclosed nonpublic medical information about former 76ers forward Jahlil Okafor.

Nope. Instead we’re stuck with Jalen Rose and Paul Pierce acting all serious about when in reality it’s the funniest story in sports this year

In two responses to a February 2017 tweet from actress Gabrielle Union, who pointed out that Tom Brady didn’t visit the White House when Barack Obama was president, Eric jr went on the attack. “I sat NEXT to you and [Dwyane Wade] at Beijing Olympics and saw you both being rude nasty to little kid fan,” the account said. “Had to eat yr pizza. … You showed no respect to this little kid, who are you to stand on high grounds? Never looked at DW the same after that.”
this is 100% colangelo's wife, i'm convinced
