But in February, The Ringer reached out to Philly to ask if 2 of the 5 burner accounts were Colangelo's, that same day the other 3 changed from public to private. I just don't know how to reconcile that.
It wasn't in February, it was last Tuesday. The tip came to the Ringer in February.
ETA - I still agree with your point. The ONLY thing I can imagine is the phila1234567 account went private, and MAYBE the other 4 accounts went private after that in order to follow Colangelo. The phila1234567 account is obviously Colangelo (he admitted as much), and a quick email search could have proved that. IF someone was playing a long con, is plausible they could have noticed that account going private and immediately take the burner accounts private too.
However, Occam's Razor says it was Colangelo. It's far easier to believe it was him than it is to think someone went through this much effort to frame him.

So on that Twitter thing you did with the screenshots, does phila1234567 have the same email address and phone# as all the other burners?

He did. My point is he did very little to hide it. His email was bpcolangelo@gmail.com for that account.

No. 3 of the accounts - Eric Jr, HonestAbe, and Still Balling - have a phone number and the last 2 digits are 91 for all 3 accounts. Of those 3, Still Balling has an email too - di**********@gmail.com. The 4th account, enoughunkownsources, has no phone number, just the email no********************@gmail.com.
The 5th account is the phila1234567 account, and it has a phone number ending with 75 and the email address bpcolangelo@gmail.com
It's pretty clear the 3 with the 91 phone number are connected.

That would be the best thing ever

That's true, but older people still don't fully "get" social media.

If Colangelo was going to own up to one account but not the others, wouldn’t he think it would be suspicious if he made all of them private at the same time?
You gotta also remember, they came to him directly, from what I understand, to ask about 2 accounts, so he also could have very well thought only those 2 were known, and if he made the other 3 private, he'd be good to go assuming no one knew about those.

They didn't mention the other 3 accounts. They went private after BC was asked about the other 2.

regardless, it only raises suspiscion my making the accounts private (or touching them at all) after the story published.
why not just abandon them?

He figured that they could eventually be linked, but he also thought that they didn't know about them yet. So, if he got out in front of the "investigators" he could make them private before they could be linked to the others.
He got played though

Yeah, I'm just playing devil's advocate, but if someone went through all of the effort to frame Colangelo, it wouldn't be difficult to take the 3 or 4 burner accounts private the moment phila1234567 goes private.
ETA - The Eric Jr account, the one The Ringer brought to the attention of Colangelo, is still public. That makes the other 3 going private even more damning.
Once again, there is a ton of smoke here, and I'm about 99% certain it was Colangelo. I'm just trying to find some kind of way out if it wasn't him.

Transcript from call a reporter had with Jerry Colangelo

Posted on 5/30/18 at 12:05 pm to slackster
Colangelo must post here. The Eric Jr. account has liked plenty of tweets saying Jemele Hill is overrated and others that say reporters should stop making everything about race.
He also has issues with LeBron and loves Jordan. He liked a tweet saying "Michael Jordan used to prove his points on the court. LeBron is still trying to go full SJW over the word posse."
