As K said in Men In Black:

quote:

A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow.

My Dayton Flyers were going to be a 1 seed.

Painful.

But in hindsight, also hilarious.

The calamity was the response to it, covid was just the flu.

The countless contradictions, capitulations and policy absurdities is just astounding in retrospect. We could go on all day.

Add Buster Olney along with Gobert making ridiculous statements like there was a zero % chance baseball will play at all and that none of the players wanted to play - both absurd and wild exaggeration and flat out lies.

Tell that to the people around the world who lost their loved ones at that time to it.

One of the dumbest was John Rahm covid positive and had no symptoms before the final round of I think it was the Memorial that he was leading. In a sport played outside and they could have had him play by himself. Nope had to withdraw. Idiotic time that was.

He offered to carry his own bag and everything. This was peak sports COVID insanity.

You are OUTSIDE and not walking in crowds. Unreal shite.

This will forever be my “where were you” moment for Covid.
Wichita state Koch Arena watching high school basketball. I was leaving work the next day to start spring break and saw the writing on the wall so went bought a Xbox to entertain myself with for what I thought would be the next couple weeks. Smartest investment of my life.

while still being sympathetic to their situation, gladly.

I know one of the first Covid patients in the state of Arkansas. Family friend that’s not the healthiest guy in the world. Ended up in ICU for a couple months I believe and still deals with fallout from it. He talks about how ridiculous the public response was.

Damar Hamlin passing away on the football field from the clot shot and the NFL sporting a body double of him was pretty crazy times as well.

That double is still playing in the league today. Amazing.

Rory,

We should play through this. I am not sure

Goes out, shoots a 72, I believe, and comes back in and goes full on. We need to shut everything down . Then later decides to "I can't play with Trump" because he is not a good leader during COVID.

It was so wild that all this was happening in real time on TV.

Remember the Horse games ESPN would show on TV with Trae Young and whoever else?

I will never forget people online posting videos of chinese literally dropping dead like flies on the street when covid first hit. That was either a major psyop or perhaps an early look at AI

One of many ridiculous examples - go back and look at the studies on Sweeden where there were little or no restrictions were required and how they fared vs. countries with strict restrictions and it tells you all you need to know.

And how many of those people that died of “Covid” actually died of pneumonia or the flu or some other respiratory ailment. Since the government was given hospitals, money for Covid deaths, many of those Covid deaths weren’t Covid deaths.

I remember UW got to play in the Pac-12 Championship Game but had to forfeit due to COVID which gave their spot to their biggest rival Oregon who proceeded to win and go to the Rose Bowl. Dumbest sports year in history.
