I have a kid on the Barbe team. Rummel had a great game plan and executed well. I always wonder why more teams don't run the play clock down to about 7 seconds before the qb gets under center like Rummel did all game long keeping their defense rested and Barbe's offense off the field.

Met some good Rummel folks in the Regency bar before the game. Most of the Barbe parents clapped for the Raiders as they exited the dome after the game. Appeared that both sides were cordial and had mutual respect for each other.

Of course, we're disappointed but these boys overachieved and gave us an exhilarating year. We'll lose D Smith and C. Gallentine on offense, J. McGee (kicker) and Smith and Guillory on defense. With a little luck and some guys stepping up, we'll be fairly salty again next year.

I believe I know who Murph Daddy is if he played on the 09 team.

Damian started from week 8 on. Terrence was part of a 3 man rotation at running back with JJ, and Ahmad Brown.

Having a hard time remembering. Give me a few minutes...

You guys should check twitter to see what some of the WM players are saying. Stuff like they would crush Rummel and that WM should've been in the Dome lololololol

Is the whole city of WM that delusional They should be embarrassed to lose they way they did. And then to come out and talk shite..

Save the coulda woulda shoulda and the back handed compliments you losers. You lost. Save your crying and learn how to cover an onside kick.

Not all fans are that delusional in WM but a lot are. I was at the Barbe game and it was all on WM for not covering onside kicks and fumbling a couple of times. That's the way it bounces sometimes but I cant think of a better way to have ended the weekend in the dome with Rummel and WM going at it. Who would of came out on top??? Who knows but congrats to Rummel for shutting an amazing offense down.

Barbe has to make a commitment to playing defense. Two things they need to do is put some athletes on that side of the ball. Also they seem like they make very few defensive adjustments during the game. Just an opinion. West Monroe and Barbe lost this year because of defense. Rummel won it all because of defense and Damian Williams. Rummel's defense was solid all year even though they were undersized. Their defense won that game last night. Hats off to them.

West Monroe did not lose because of defense. WM lost because they had 5 turnovers, including 2 onside kicks, and Barbe had 0. WM held Barbe to 14 in the first half, both TDs on big plays. Then for some reason they went prevent the entire 2nd half and allowed Barbe to score. Baffling.

That's a big change from the baseball championship game from what I've heard.

It's hard to be humble when you always win. Some say that's fine and dandy, but eventually it catches up to you in life

Yes or no question: do you think WM is the best team in 5A this year?

Hit me with a one word response. No explaination needed

i have said this to multiple people. no attempt to stop the run.

against WM, that weak 3-4 defense got blown off the line at least 3 yds every snap. and absolutely no adjustment was made in the 2nd half. And it sounds like the exact same thing happened Sat night.

WM lost because of special teams, not defense. Missed PAT, 2 onside kicks, lost by 1.

You don't get any points for recovering an onsides kick. Each onsides kick was followed by a drive that ended in points. WM had no defensive answer.

I remember number 15 on the 09 team for Rummel. He had stone hands and ran a 5.2 40.

they had a pretty great D last year (i think they held WM to like 25 yards in the 2nd half of their playoff game last year) and should have a good D next year. this was just a bad year for talent and they weren't good

that's why it took a miracle to go to the dome

big congrats to my old friends, my uncle's alma mater, chalmette's district mate four of the last six years

if SFP says Barbe will have something on defense, i have to put them as the favorites in 2013 with quinn and their qb coming back. rummel will lose a lot to graduation and wm might lose their coach.

1. barbe
2. acadiana
3. st. aug
4. west monroe
5. catholic?
30. the maroon and white?

WM loses 7 on defense, QB, C, FB, WRs on offense. Expect growing pains
