SC was the better team in 03 IMO. I am amazed how OU got into that game losing so late, but at the time and formula set up, SC got left out due to a game that was played vs 2 teams they did not even play. It sent them to Pasadena and LSU to New Orleans.

I am glad LSU won the NC, but at the time it was strange.

and VY. There were, however, a small minority that defended the Texans pick at the time.

I don't agree here... LSU'S "D " could have shut down USC's offense just like they did OU'S......

There should be at least a 20 year period before they start making docs about it. No point in learning about something I remember living through.

Better 30-for-30 would be about the 1966 season, or Penn State only losing 6 games in 6 years and coming away with zero championships (and the Nixon influence in it all)

All the 30 for 30 I've been have been pretty bad. Granted I've only seen about a dozen, but they are not entertaining to me. Plus i hate Tom Ranoldi's voice.

I do and it was a joke, relax. Bama counts 15, imo it should be 9 or 10, which is still the most which begs the question, why does Bama feel the need to count 15. Though in 1978 you lost to USC in Bham and still split the title with them.
I don't know why they claim 15. It should be 16, damn you 1966.

But they were seldom tested, the Pac 10 was a complete joke then.

I remember it often being called the "PAC-1" due to how far and away So.Cal was above the rest of the conference.

The Patriots were the best team in 2008

I hate to be "that guy", but it was actually the 2007 Pats that went 16-0. The 2008 Pats went 11-5, lost Brady in the first game and had to start Cassel, and didn't make the playoffs.

This was the best I've seen. Trojan War would've been better if Bush would've agreed to be in it.

The most ridiculous was 73. Lost to ND in the Sugar Bowl but UPI did their final ranking before the Bowl. Nobody in Crimson left Tulane Stadium feeling like they were the NC that night.

You're not really comparing OUs offense to USC? OU scored only 7 points against K State.

USC was clearly better than LSU. Mauck and Vincent?

Marquise Hill, Marcus Spears and Kyle Williams would've broken Leinart in half.

2008 SC vs. 2008 UF would have been one of those all-time match-ups. That's always the game I think of when I wish a playoff would have been around earlier.

I ran a playoff for that year on Whatifsports. Those were the two teams in the title game. Florida was up by 2 late in the game and Southern Cal was driving down the field. Joe McKnight fumbled with less than 90 seconds to go.

Sure they would have. Leinart only won 34 games in a row. He wouldn't have stood a chance.

34. Wins. In. A. Row. 34!!!!!!

USC's exclusion from the BCS title game in 2003 is the most ridiculous outcome in the history of college football.
