30 for 30: Trojan War - anyone else find it pretty terrible?

I was really looking forward to the new season, but this one fell flat on its face. If you didn't like the Miami show, you sure as hell won't like this one, but at least Miami had some dynamic stories. They spent about 5 minutes on the Bush scandal and the entire episode seemed to be narrated by a 14-year old.
Pretty bummed because I was excited about getting behind the scenes a bit, but it was pretty meh.
Thoughts?

Kinda figured it'd just be jacking off once I saw Keyshawn promoting it.
Just right now, it's one thing to act like Texas was a underdog but it's an different level of bullshite to act like Vince Young was a nobody.
Also why is Steve Clarkson on this?

Yeah it was pretty weak. It wasn't anything that we've never seen before.

They also basically completely skipped over the last four years of Carroll's tenure at SC. They were just as good those four years and finished 4th, 2nd, 2nd, and 20th in final AP polls those four years.
2008 SC vs. 2008 UF would have been one of those all-time match-ups. That's always the game I think of when I wish a playoff would have been around earlier.

I certainly found the fact that this even existed surprising. First of all, its hardly been that long since the sanctions at USC were put in place, and they hardly fell from where they were. They weren't #1 or top 10, but they were more than formidable during the few years they were on probation. They tried to portray it as a "fall from grace", but it was like being at the top, but only falling a quarter back down?
But at the end of the day, Im sure they assumed the USC name was enough.

Because Im pretty sure he trained just about every USC QB during the last 10 years.
Or least guys who went to USC, or had something to do with USC.
Leinart
Wittek
Sills (committed as a 13 year old)
Cassel
Barkley
And he lives in Pasadena,CA. So its safe to say he has an influence, but hes technically an outsider?

Yeah, going the dynasty was over after 2 years kinda completely discredits that it was a dynasty.

The highlight for me was seeing Gene Chizik and Sark as assistants at Texas and USC, respectively.
I doubt many people would have guessed one would win a NC and be fired 2 years later, while the other would end up in rehab 6 weeks into the season in 2015.

A final four of OU, SC, UF, and Texas would've been epic that year. IMO, that was one of the best seasons of CFB in recent memory.

Wait, what is this in reference to? Did it portray that Texas team as some sort of Miracle on Ice usurper to the Trojan throne or something?

It jumped around too much. It was like ESPN's How I Met Vince Young.

They acted like Texas showed up for a coronation and some dude said something like he didn't know who UT's QB was.

Only caught a few minutes but that's egregious.
I remember thinking VY might not be enough against USC's weapons but I also knew he was one of the best players in CFB, and so did anybody with a sliver of attention.

It was pretty tough to get through IMO. As someone else stated, they combined 2006-present into less that 10 minutes. Basically gave up on the "dynasty" at that point.
Also, and I know I'll get shite on here, but they completely glossed over 2003. No mention of getting left out of the BCS, no mention of split title, nothing. I don't give a shite that they left out LSU, but if you're going to do a documentary on that time period in USC history, you would think that is a piece that would garner more attention. Instead, it was completely ignored, as in it was never mentioned whatsoever.

I get why LSU fans get pissed about 2003. I really do. I have no compunctions about saying LSU deserves that title.
But SC from 2003 to 2008 was every single bit as impressive in my mind as the Nebraska mid-90's dynasty or the recent Alabama dynasty. Had the breaks fallen a little bit differently in any of 2003, 2005, 2006, or 2008, they would have been an all-time dynasty, approaching that of Oklahoma in the mid-50's or Notre Dame in the late-40's.
I watched them a lot up close and personal those years just absolutely embarrass both decent and bad ND teams. They were just so damn good - one of those things that is hard to quantify. I've seen a lot of really good college teams in person, including a fair amount of national champions...they were just on a different level. Their BCS bowl and big-game (read: match ups against the top 10) record in those years is just absurd.

That was my only real complaint about the film.

Oh they were great. I wasn't quoting dynasty to imply that one didn't exist, but you're going to have a hardtime convincing someone when you really only focused on 04-05. I mean they basically ignored 03 completely, and certainly ignored anything past the Texas loss.

was it as terrible as Roll Tide/ War Eagle?
i mean i knew that one would suck but maybe an outsider would've bitten the hook.
