I actually feel like the crowd was more pro-Shelton in the first three sets. Then, as you lost more locals who probably had to work the next day, the crowd definitely started rooting for Alcaraz more.
So pumped for Shelton though. What a massive win.

I turned off the tv and went to sleep after posting that lol. Wow, shocked to see the result. 5th set tiebreaker. Amazing win.

frickin A I went to bed after the 1st set. Something told me I should stay up because Shelton’s serve was on, I thought this is as good a shot as he’s going to have with a home crowd and Carlos coming off injury. Tiafoe vs Shelton semi guarantees an American in the final. Both of them have the ability to beat Zverev if Fritz has done it multiple times. This could be the year

I think there is a rule they can't begin play before 11 am.
Yesterday, was a bit of a freak occurrence. Ashe only had two day matches, began at 11:30 (so, not late at all), and would normally finish comfortably by like 6, so the night session could start on time. But, Sabalenka and Foe matches each went to match tiebreaker, so the session finished at 7. Now, you have the cluster of getting everyone out of and in Ashe between sessions. I think that took over an hour. Of course, Pegula and Navarro went three sets, so Alcaraz/Ben didn't start until 11 or so. That went the distance and now it's 3:30.
I like what they are doing today. Two women's matches and a men's match for the day session, one men's match at night. But, if they all go the distance, it could end up in the same place.
Night sessions should just be one men's match, but that would never happen.

I think the last time the top 4 seeds were in the semifinals of the women’s majors was Wimbledon 2009.
