I’m just glad we didn’t get another Reddick win!
It's good for the sport when we have new winners and we got to seen genuine emotion out of the victory interview today. I like Reddick but for the good of the sport, we need a few new faces in victory lane.

This kinda proves the plate “lucky” wins I mentioned

3 minutes but reporters asked him about racing and what he could do. Chase was honest about how you just can’t go anywhere or make moves with this car at this track

You sound like a women. It was a great race. Listen to the radio if they bother you.

A great burnout does not make up for a shitty race and broadcast. Did you watch NOAP Sat? If you did there is no way you would say racing was great in Sun.
First stage had some strategy but no one knew who was doing what because booth sucks. And at end of that stage they all ended up together again.
A big wreck by DEI driver who had handling issues and should not have been changing lanes to begin with took out 24 cars and any chance of racing or having a 3rd line.
You are entitled to your opinion but I am entitled to respond. Drivers were all fuel saving until last stage.
Get rid of stage stoppages. The pit stops add excitement to races and many drivers made mistakes. But most mistakes go away due to stage stoppages.
Anyways, its easy to make a one line comment but explain why this was such a great race. Back up your declaration.

Here is a wild, damn concept: get the cars to where they can race in a pack. You know, like what we see on Saturdays. What we used to see in this series.
GTFO of here with having to choose fuel saving, tandem, or wrecking.

I enjoyed the race but green flag pit stops on the "plate" tracks is one of the best parts of these races. Some tracks could keep the stage breaks, some should get rid of them.

I dislike Logano, but in his interview yesterday he said something along the lines of, “this is Talladega, you’re either wrecking the field or following the leader. There’s no racing in between.”
Chase Elliott said something similar in that he couldn’t do anything in the closing laps. Racing isn’t what it used to be in this Gen 7 car.

Oh great next race we’ll start getting the phantom cautions again

@FoxSports says that it was forced to change its plans to run no full-screen ads during green-flag racing at Talladega yesterday due to the first stage going without a caution and how that messed with its intended ad load.

Notice they don’t say “racing” instead they say “stages”. Because it was not racing. This is like the electric car in F1. Daytona and Dega always get so many first time winners because its all about luck and having a pusher versus actually driving.
Not to take anything away from Hocavar but his lane was better at pushing. Its all about avoiding the big crashes too. Elliot was in 38th close to end of stage 1. But moved up at end of it. Elliot was way in back during the big one, smart to ride around back saving gas and miss it.
He then gets to 5th/6th for last stage and just rides in the pack because you can’t make a 3rd lane. It really is just luck and some prior race planning skill (to avoid big one).
It’s not racing but draws viewers wanting to see carnage. Someday another driver will be killed all so advertisers can add to their bank accounts.

Wow. New guy same as old guy. Nothing will change except losing more fans. Don’t get me wrong, Dega will show good numbers. People love to see carnage and when another driver is killed they want to say they saw it live. Thats the big draw for Dega and Daytona.
But numbers are dwindling overall

I was at the race and the whole crowd was definitely behind Carson. Very cool to see that live.

I know it’s a different car but Newman was just a little banged up after his horrible crash in the 500 back in 2020. I feel like drivers aren’t even getting injured nearly as much as they used to.
Someday another driver will be killed
