Cutting and pasting from a Facebook post that condenses it better than wire reports although it’s all over the wires:
The legal battle between Joe Gibbs Racing and Spire Motorsports just took a dramatic turn. JGR has filed to amend its lawsuit against former employee Chris Gabehart and Spire, explicitly citing Carson Hocevar’s maiden Cup win at Talladega as evidence of "unfair competitive harm."
JGR claims that Spire’s sudden "transformation" from a backmarker to a race-winning organization is directly linked to Gabehart’s arrival. The lawsuit alleges that Gabehart, who was previously Denny Hamlin’s crew chief and JGR's Director of Competition, misappropriated sensitive trade secrets and confidential information to help Spire make an "implausible single-season competitive leap."

Man, frick JGR. Dega is always a crapshoot who wins based on luck and possibly team strategy.
Spire can actually go back to 2023 and show a steady increase in performance over each year. They’ve been on the come up for some time.
I wish nothing but bad things on JGR. Trying to kill a small team who is trying to break into Nascar and did it the right way. Thru years of hard work and no glory until now. Thats what made Nascar great in the past.
I know the big teams have the best of everything and had Nascar never allowed more than 2 cars per team we’d have a much better product. But that ship sailed.
Now JGR is trying to use dirty tactics to ruin a small team (if you read some of the case over last 4 months its some petty stuff - like hiring PI’s to follow them around even at restaurants). The only likable Toyota drivers are Reddick and Bell and I hate they drive for Toyota teams.

Talladega Superspeedway
@TALLADEGA
Y’ALL ALREADY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS!!
Left Behind: 2026 Jack Links 500 edition.
And I’m not happy with what I found.

I think it was the last major network broadcast for 4 months.
While NOAP rises Cup falls flat on its arse.

UPDATE: Deleted an earlier tweet about O'Reilly practice and qualifying remaining for free on The CW app after receiving corrected information.
That information is this: O'Reilly practice and qualifying will only be on the ESPN Unlimited package when that deal goes live.

What a great move to make right in the middle of a growth period for the O'Reilly Series!

So NOAPS Practice and Qualifying went from being free to behind a paywall? Not great!

So when do we get to the point where we have to switch broadcasts during the race?
Stage 1: CW
Stage 2: FS1
Stage 3: Prime
Last 5 laps only for Premium Subscribers
Highlights only on ESPN+
If you’d like to watch the race in it’s entirety wait 1 week and use YouTube Premium

What a load of shite. Gotta monetize every little thing these days. Guess I just won't be watching O'Reilly P&Q.
quote:
Bruh nobody is paying for that. Way to kill the growth of your sport making it inaccessible.
quote:
Wtf is this bullshite? Take away something for free and put it behind a $30 a month paywall? What a scam
quote:
The fans wanted to watch O’Reilly races on the CW app, which is free. What do they do to show they listen to fans? They put everything behind a paywall Go frick yourselves @TheCW_Sports
quote:
*CW growing the O'Reilly series* "Oh we can't have that! They're enjoying it too much!"
quote:
wait wait wait. So now you're expecting us to spend $30/month when the ONLY content to watch on ESPN is O'Reilly practice and qualifying? @TheCW_Sports , this is already on your app. WHY move it exclusively to the ESPN? This is a terrible decision.

NOAP up again. Is Nascar trying to hurt NOAP (see prior post) to help Cup? Nascar just can’t get out of its own way. NOAP gets very little coverage outside of the actual race. And was growing because the racing was great, booth was great and TV production was great. Amazing numbers.

The judge in the JGR-Gabehart case will hold a telephonic hearing next Tuesday on whether the trial should be in November (when JGR wants) or as late as next May (when Gabehart-Spire want).

Firing squad
HORRIFYING new court documents show that a warrant for Greg Biffle's helicopter co-pilot, Aaron Lloyd, and Aaron's wife, Kayelee Lloyd, were issued following information that HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS were stolen from Greg Biffle after he and his family perished in a plane crash.
Aaron Lloyd famously helped Greg Biffle fly his helicopter to rescue Hurricane Helene victims in Western North Carolina.
Investigators say the plan was carried out by people within the Biffles’ inner circle and had likely been in place for some time.
“It is the belief of this affiant that a plan has been in place by friends of Gregory Biffle and strategically executed after the de*th of the Biffle family."
This is beyond horrifying...
