Maybe of interest in here. Fenway Sports Group is in talks to acquire some sort of stake in Cadillac F1 as part of Mark Walter's financial troubles.
Not sure if it would have any impact on Spire or RFK but I suppose it's possible.

I think the impact could be them bleeding money and resources from Nascar to prop up F1.
F1 screwed up going electric. At the same time they gave TV contract to Apple. And Caddy picked a bad time to go F1. They have lost so many fans who watched and helped F1 grow in USA. Most everyone had ESPN. And could watch races commercial free which gave it an advantage over other motorsports.
Car companies are getting out of mass electric cars. Subsidies stopped. Now its just build what is sold but at higher costs (without subsidies) and when no one really wants electric.
So to me, if either/both get into F1 it’s going to bleed money from Nascar. I haven’t watched one F1 race all year and used to watch every one plus recorded them due to time difference. All I’ve read is how awful racing is due to batteries. Even drivers hate it.
Its a bad time to invest in F1 and and as viewership realities hit home they will eventually lose sponsors who don’t want to invest in a limited market (electric car owners). That will bleed money as their tech is so expensive and demands more money every year for teams to compete. It will take another 3-4 years to fully hit and they will see the move to Apple chased away a lot of fans. Less fans will mean less money.
Meanwhile Nascar as bad as it is sometimes is bringing in a new car maker (Dodge) and that will help them slowly climb up if they manage things right. And Honda is interested. Its so much cheaper to get into Nascar than F1 and makers get more bang for their buck spending wise.

You think that would stop Nascar if they could make a lot of money? I doubt it ever happens but Nascar has no issue selling their soul

Could this be the unexpected open ride for a former champion free agent in 2027?
I wonder if Hocevar team has a conduct clause? If so could they use it to can him and bring in Kes?

The irony.
If a Chinese brand made an attempt to fit into the American market and showed interest in nascar, sure.
I’m not saying nascar should abandon the v8. But they could work with Honda on an engine solution. And this 2030-2032 testing they were talking about is where all potential OEMs could be on the same page.

The problem with too many makers is changes get stalled because its harder to get all onboard. Each MNFR has a different reason to race and what brings value to them. Thats the issue with having too many. If you allow a maker to have a special variance it muddies the waters and others will want one too.

Honda does make a V-8. The 350 HP outboard. Not the same architecture but they did out of the blue develop aV-8 outboard.

To me Honda works because their brand is relevant in the US. If audi and BMW wanted in, I’m not sure I’d feel the same.
2013 you had Mercedes, Nissan, and Volvo join Supercars. Only Nissan felt like they belonged. Now Toyota is in there with Chevy and ford. Toyota belongs.

Just dawned on me, Hamlin is the Dallas Cowboys of Nascar Cup racing.

Designated wrecker (one of many). Drivers get bonus money for swigging drinks. I think some of the back markers get bonus money for creating cautions (and thus it allows more commercials and/or late race fake restart action).

As expected, Ryan Preece will change numbers and drive the No. 6 for RFK next season. Organization obviously wanted one of its charter drivers in that car number that has a history with the organization.

He’s a title contender in o Reilly. That’s his ceiling.

How’s AJ so good here but suck elsewhere? On a side note, I feel like AJ has been in NASCAR forever.
Posted on 11/4/26 at 11:41 am to sledgehammer
I don’t think it’s an AJ problem. He’s very underrated as a driver. For some reason he just adapts well to homestead.

This is cool. Not sure its on any mainstream US TV but wish it was
