Snake bit or poorly coached? Where is the catcher? Great base running by Destrehan. Also it’s hard to win if you can’t score.

No. 10 Haynes 7, No. 7 EDW 1

Haynes had lost 5 of 7 including a head to head vs. EDW in the final game of the regular season.

EDW lost Game 1 of the regional round last year to ARCA. Was a No. 7 seed also last year and finished as runner up to Teurlings Catholic.

Parker didn't pitch tonight but I think Barbe will be fine against him unless they get anxious

D2S - (9)SMHS takes game 1 from (8) Buckeye 7-5 in 8inn.

Down 4-1 going into the 7th, SMHS takes the lead on a grand slam. An error leads to a tying run in the bottom of the inning. Warriors add 2 more in the 8th and Buckeye went 1-2-3 to end the game. Pitching sets up well for a double header on Friday (if needed). Looking to make the trip down to Houma next weekend.

I took the drive to Slidell for PBHS at Pope John Paul II. 3.5 hrs from Lafayette going N on 49 to 190, never touching 10, b/c Waze said it was that bad in BR. Got there 5 min before 1st pitch

PBHS scored 6 runs top 8 to win 7-1

Sorrel 7 2/3 inn, 1 H (swinging bunt), 1 unearned R, 3 BB, and 17 Ks on 110 pitches. No balls were hit to the OF

Big hits from Landry and Beckers late

And WM has been down 0-1 before and come back to win 2 in a row. Would not count them out just yet.

Catholic has been the powerhouse the last 5 years

Barbe is the best again this year

West Monroe likely the 3rd best program over the last few years

Yes and Yes

Sam Houston won it all last year and is No. 2 seed this year. Was seeded much lower (8th?) last year.

Barbe has only lost one game this year. The Division I nonselect bracket is tough overall.

Buckeye is down pitching. Their best is out, and one of there best relief guys is out. They will have to throw guys that haven’t pitched all year

That’s interesting. GameChanger didn’t have the last out recorded. I was checking to see what happened at the end of the game. At least it was that way when I wrote a brief recap this morning.
