Rummel over PBHS 4-1 in first game of DH

Rummel put consecutive hits together in 3rd w 1 out. Single, HR, double. The double stole 3rd and home

No other batter reached 2nd. Sorrel gave up the 3 hits and K’d 12 with a walk in 6 IP, 92-95 by Cannizaro’s gun behind the plate

Rummel leading 2-1 going bot 3 in 2nd game. Both unearned w/o a hit vs Wooten

7-1 Rummel now in 2nd game

Each team with 3 hits. LOL

I think PBHS could start each inning w bases loaded and 1 out and not score

Wooten out early at 76 pitches. Not sure if he gave up a hit

Wow, that seems to be their MO the last few years. Do they just not have kids with some of the pubic schools in the are now upgrading their programs? In the past seems they pulled a lot of Central,Ascension & Livingston kids.

Their overall best position player and one of their D1 pitchers are transfers in previous years.

The girls sports are not suffering, but it’s evident that football and baseball haven’t been trending in the right direction, but I wouldn’t venture a guess on where that fits in the BR area as it relates to recruitment of talent.

As far as baseball goes, w/o Fontenot in the lineup, the offense is anemic. Pretty much missed the playoffs last year, was off to a good start this year, and now will be out for a substantial amount of time again. Kid is a difference maker when he can play.

WM recap from their Facebook

Rebels come from behind to beat St Amant 3-2.
After hitting balls hard right at guys all night with nothing to show for it, the Rebels entered the 7th inning down 2-0. The first 4 hitters would reach base. Kade Thomas led off with a single. Brody Taylor followed with a 2 strike single. Jaxson Garner laid down a bunt for a single to load the bases. Kohlson Bible drilled the first pitch he saw for a 2 RBI double. JB Clack grounded out for the first out then Peyton Starr was intentionally walked to load the bases. Bradyn Cupit then singled to give the Rebels their first lead 3-2.
Gage Carr got the Gators 3 up, 3 down in the bottom of the 7th to seal the win.
Brady Guillot went 3 innings in the start and although he was a little off tonight, held St Amant to just two runs. Carr came on in the 4th inning with one on and no outs and got out of the jam when no runs scoring. Carr went 4 innings, no runs, 1 hit, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts, and earned the win.

Garner, Thomas, and Cupit all had two hits in the game.

Rebels will look to go 4-0 in the Patterson Tournament with two games Saturday.

I'm guessing they are all held back in 8th grade?

Is literally the recommendation of today's school psychologist/researchers

Not held back in 8th grade but held back from the beginning for boys no matter if its for sports or school/maturity

All my kids girls or boys if born after Feb got held back/started late and it similar for most people in the community

Rummel finished the sweep of PBHS with a 3-2 win

Third different bat providing a HR in the series with 4 outs to go to tie

Beckers pitched a great game and had 2 of Parkview’s 3 total hits and an RBI, w Sorrel doubling in the other run

I wasn’t there, but following on GC, it appeared Rummel bunted the winning run in from 3rd off of a reliever

ASH lost to North Desoto and Jesuit this weekend, best Central. Curse of lack of run production cost us, Had some good pitching performances, have two sophomore guys that have really matured this year. So that has been nice.

CCA's season is going to depend on how many 19yr old players they have this year. I think 3 of them finally moved on to college. Prayers they have some more college sophomores to replace them with.

A little late to this, but when did Covenant Christian become a school that Barbe or Catholic High would even consider scheduling?

They were in our district in 2013/2014 and were good, but nothing more than a solid 1A team.
