If tweet fails to load, click here. In spirit of PBR here is a look at Jack Lee who is a 2027 LSU commit.

I don't know if dominated does it justice. Outside of that first game against Schmidt-oddly the tightest game of the 6-Catholic has just been head and shoulders better.

Friend of mine from Haughton said WM pitching is looking really deep. Who is the number 2 guy? they were really impressed and these are some good baseball dudes.

The interesting part though is the starter for Southside, who he said was awesome, threw 116 pitches in 6 and 1/3. But even more amazing than that he was allowed to throw that many pitches, was Southside scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 6th to go up 10-1,

Honestly I'm not 100% sure. I BELIEVE it is Guillot, but it might be Long or Mardis. Cupit is the unquestioned Ace. I know it took Haughton 10 innings to get a base runner in the scrimmage last week. So the pitching and defense must not be too bad.

Interesting… would have thought they would have been better.
Started as a freshman for Live Oak’s runner up squad last year… kid can hit
But- I know rankings are mostly “combine numbers”, and less on the field , in a game, evaluation.

For the record, Northshore is a team that I'd pay attention to. Well coached team with some juice on the mound.

Yea… that can’t be accurate
i dunno the kid but in beam start on the vlad system like PBR does....lends to much lower time than PG's start behind the lasers which allows people to cheat a step or two which allows them to knock a tenth or more off their time.
same timing (VLAD) system for the most part, its just how they do the test.
and you would be surprised how slow the normal HS athlete is once you put them on lasers using in beam start.

possibly but its also irresponsible for us to judge not knowing what his on ramp was or how long, how often he will be asked to do that etc
and for many of these kids, no different than college ball, where they will be asked to do these same things in a year or two and do them through june every week. where as with HS/travel, you have weeks off

Barbe beat Westlake 10-0 in 5.

Hopefully it was not too long. There is reason MLB banned their scouts from attending PG events for High Schoolers from October to January. They want them to rest.

actually the opposite...if he is throwing that much, hopefully he did do a 4-6 week on ramp.
every single HS baseball player that pitches should be starting their on ramp in December right after christmas.
there is a huge reason why we see huge injury spikes at the start of the season from 9u through mlb...because the kids are not prepared for the demands of the game, including mlb players.

complete eye wash. there are no big PG or PBR events after mid oct anyways. most are in middle of HS fall scrimmages come mid oct to mid nov anyways

yea thats brilliant...continuing to restrict throwing more and more has worked out so well right?
maybe its not an overuse issue but under prepared issue?
maybe thats why injuries are highest at the start of the season vs say 2 months later and funny how that trend is consistent 9u-mlb.....maybe just maybe....we dont actually throw enough(didnt say pitch, said throw) and maybe its the change in delta overall that is the leading cause of injuries?
ftr I dont think he should have thrown that much no matter what his on ramp looked like. but if he is going to throw that much this early, hopefully it was at least 6 week on ramp that started right after christmas

I think the glaring issue here is in the kids first start of the season (regardless of ramp up), the coach, with a 9 run lead, put the kid back on the mound having already thrown 100 pitches. Absolutely irresponsible.

Jay doesn't push guys over 100 pitches on the first weekend.
Jay's players are older, more physically mature, and under the guidance of the best baseball (and specifically pitching) S&C coach in the country.
Jay's not dealing with high school kids on high school weight programs with barely there ramp up processes.

Totally agree. These HS throwing programs are a joke. Its so bad that when a kid comes back from Tommy John and is on a true "prescribed" throwing program from someone who knows what they are doing. The coaches keep questioning it.
Lot of schools are on old basic throwing programs where you ramp up before game 1 with a 24 pitch pen then expect the kid to come in and throw 60 plus pitches first game. Then they question the kid on why they are sore.
