Can we just acknowledge the craziness that Max is 2 in the Championship...
Never thought he'd turn it around like he has. Had a couple of things gone differently earlier in the year, we'd be in a similar position to last year with Max almost running down Lando at the end.

I am pulling a Piastri down the final stretch of the season.
I keep pulling a Hulk and finishes right out of the points

Absolutely. He’s been his super impressive self as always and the new PU and whole new car and all is coming together nicely.
Got to give credit the Mekies and the Red Bull squad for being this competitive despite their turnover in management and all the last few years.

Lewis with some choice comments about Sharl:
quote:
Before I joined this team, when I was in Mercedes, I watched and witnessed the back-and-forth between Charles and Carlos. Several races where they were battling so much that the person ahead just pulled away, and they had the pace to actually win the race.
It’s one thing when that's happening in fourth and fifth as opposed to first and second, and you lose the win. That's significant. The guy is 28 years old, so I don't think it's an age thing. I think it's a mentality thing. It's like do or die. Like, either I win, or none of us do, and it shouldn't be that. It should be, us having got that one-two, which is still a good feeling.
At Silverstone, I could have gone all kamikaze on him and taken him off and lost us the the win, but instead a one-two was there, and I think we got a one-two, or was it a one-three? I'm happy for the team to have experienced that. I'm hopeful we'll work towards a better place in the future.

I'm having trouble choosing what laughing gif to use as a response to this.

I think he is saying what everyone knows about Ferrari and why the dysfunction.

Lewis seems to ignore the fact that it takes two to tango. Maybe he should stop being a pain in Charl's side and let him race for the wins.

George was so upset after the race yesterday that he left the track without performing any of his media duties. The team was fined 5,000 euros.

I sort of feel for George. I know he isn't everyone's favorite driver, but when you see his car get a good start and then get mugged when his battery dies, you kind of have to admit he's been at the short end of the stick a few times this year.

I believe that is what he was referring to with Silverstone.

Yeah, I was just hoping the championship was going to be more competitive this year. That kind of got stolen from us a few times for sure.
Happy for Kimi but hope it’s more competitive of a WDC next year.

If RBR can stay towards the front and Merc can get their reliability solved it may be an interesting year.
Merc will have to pic a number one if they have to battle with Max each race. Or else Merc will just steal points from each other.

I’m hoping for more like 4 teams battling for the win each week and 8 drivers.
Rank should go to whoever qualifies better each week, ie Leclerc shouldn’t have mugged Hamilton.

Meanwhile, I am waiting for Haas to announce who is driving the 2nd car this week in Brazil.
1. Ocon? They haven't announced his departure just yet.
2. Hirakawa has a WEC commitment at Monza. His #8 Toyota leads the #7 Toyota by 17 points. If the #8 car finishes in the top 5, they wrap up the WEC championship.
3. Rafael Camara has already been announced as Ocon's replacement for next year. The next F2 race isn't for a few weeks. Camara is free and Brazil is his home race.
Seems like Camara is a shoo-in for the seat. But if they announce anyone other than Ocon or Hirakawa, I need to update the TD F1 data to include Camara in the driver list before anyone can update their list for Brazil. So I am hoping they make the announcement soon.

Camara seems like the easiest choice. Get him some practice before his rookie season. His first race being his home race might be too much pressure tho. I’ve seen Doohan’s name mentioned also.

If tweet fails to load, click here. All I know is that I’ve given it my all and 2026 was not meant to be my year. I want to sincerely congratulate Kimi on what has been an absolutely incredible season. You truly deserve the Championship.
Thank you to the team for producing the best car and power unit this season; it’s been inspiring to see everyone coming together over four tough years to bring Mercedes back to the top.
Now, all I can promise is that for the rest of this season, and into the next one, I will be giving my absolute all to rediscover the performance I have been capable of producing for the majority of my career and fingers crossed a little bit of luck returns.
Thanks all ??

Max will get #5 sooner rather than later.
