Wan't Hamilton's fault. They gave him the greenlight to go, so he went.

I can't see how the FIA didn't penalize for that. I mean, they penalize for pulling out and almost hitting another car. You actually hit another person

Ham did noting wrong. I just watched a new angle, and the front wing guy is all to blame. He's off daydreaming while the tires are being changed, then ducks down to adjust right as Hamilton gets the light.

Sorry, the only good link I have is a reddit link: LINK

I said he didn't do anything wrong, but drivers don't do anything wrong when released into traffic and they get penalized

Can’t punish the driver for something that happened outside of the car. Ferrari was fined 30,000 euros for an unsafe release. They were also fined 5,000 euros per driver for not returning used tires to pirelli in time.

Yet they always do... 5 second, 10 second, drive thrus for unsafe releases.

There is a long history of drivers being punished for stuff outside of the car.

Poorly worded on my part. I'm agreeing with you that Ham did nothing wrong. Didn't mean to make it seem like you were saying he did something wrong. Releasing into traffic and having your wing adjustment guy dive in front of a wheel should have different penalties, imo. A release into traffic screws up someone else's race. A kamikaze crew member only screws up your race. A fine seems like the better penalty, imo.

Team on team crime gets treated differently in most cases.

Complete brain fart by that guy. Almost looks like he thought it was a 10 sec penalty or something.

According to AI an unsafe release that negatively impacts another team/driver gets a time penalty. An unsafe release because of equipment still on the car or a mechanic in the way usually comes with a heavy fine for the team not the driver.

Brundle was doing a grid walk with Fittipaldi and EF said ‘separate the men from the boys’.

Brundle’s mind froze for a split second thinking of his paycheck and then corrected him ‘boys AND girls’.

Despite the starting F1 lineup being 100% male

Has anyone’s opinion of Adrian Newey changed on here or are we really going to blame Honda? Biggest hype train I’ve ever seen last year.

That’d be good for him and I could see him being a good option for them.

Guess we’re probably not going to get these Middle East races rescheduled this year are we?

I think Newey’s reputation has definitely taken a hit. I don’t think it’s all his fault tho. He joined a new operation after being with the same team for ~15 years. Had to design a car for a new regulation on a short turn around. The current car is one of the least competitive cars ever made tho. Supposed to throw it away and bring a new car this weekend that they hope will have them competing with alpine and racing bulls. If it doesn’t work Newey will have to own it.

Well lets be honest, he stepped into AM in the 4th quarter of the design of the 2026 car. Only so much he's going to be able to do. He also wasn't brought in as the designer, he was brought in at team principal and had the whole shabang to worry about.

I think it will tarnish his legacy a bit, but the guy is still the genius that he was at RB.

Newey did not have enough time to really put together a program to build a car and I’m having suspicions that a lot of the mechanics from Honda are at Red Bull building that power unit

Honda had definitely already broken up their F1 division and reassigned everyone to new project before they partnered with Aston. A bunch of them did go to RBPT-Ford. Honda essentially rebuilt their F1 division with all new people and not much of the experience.

I thought Adrien joined as the designer and then after he got there they fired the team principal and announced Adrian would be taking on that role also.

I don’t think all their problems are Hondas fault but most of them are.

Looks like George forgot to downshift which likely caused his problem.
