Today's race wasn't bad compared to some Monacos. Actual wheel to wheel racing may be shite at Monaco, but we at least had some drama. I've certainly seen much worse races. Real wheel to wheel racing has always been few and far between in F1, Monaco or no Monaco.

There really is only a dozen or so great incidents that people somehow believe is the norm for f1 racing.

Decent race. Charl screwed in the Hamilton penalty situation, though.

All right, the TD F1 Championship results are in!

dg42.net/TDF1/race-results.php?race=6

The winner of the 2026 TD F1 Monaco Grand Prix is BottomlandBrew, for his first podium and first win of the season! What's funny is if you look at his scorecard for Monaco, he didn't predict a single position correctly. That's pretty rare for a race winner. It just shows how screwy this race result was.

The podium is filled out by TouchedTheAxeIn82 in P2 for his second podium, and Lsut81 in P3, also for his second podium.

Congrats to theone for scoring his first point of the season.

TouchedTheAxeIn82 has scored points in five of the first six races of the season.

These players have scored points in four of the six races: MississippiLebowski and WAY2GOLSU.

Here's the championship table: dg42.net/TDF1/index.php

The top of the chart has not changed. pitstop, MikeD and MississippiLebowski are locked in a tight battle with just six points separating them, but none of them scored points this weekend. BottomlandBrew has shot up the championship standings from P16 to P5 with his brilliant win at Monaco.

After six races, 28 out of 29 players have scored points! Great job!

Speaking of F1’s ‘green initiatives’, one can’t help but wonder how many hundreds (thousands?) of pounds of rubber and micro-plastics have been dumped into the Mediterranean over the years from the tires on the race cars…

Every once in a while a midfield driver with no business being on the podium gets a win from a crazy series of events in a race. I am that midfield driver. I am Ocon at Hungaroring. I am Gasly at Monza

Seeing clips pop up on socials of both Stroll's and Leclerc's wrecks being caused by the track cracks going into turn 19.

Both cars onboards show them driving directly over that spot, skipping a bit, and then the front locking up and sliding into the barriers.

Both claimed on team radio it was due to Engine Push, but looking like it was actually the track surface.

A lot of marbles on their tires too. Lec’s brakes were fricked all weekend.

Unfortunate result. But also

However, a safety car was called and Hamilton served his penalty while Leclerc had to wait as Ferrari double stacked their cars in the pits, leaving the Monegasque star fuming.

Enjoy that contract extension

Leclerc didn't have any ill effects for the 2 second wait. I would think the team would have done it differently had they not been so far ahead.

It is Ferrari though.

Yeah.

I’m just enjoying the “boring” Monaco GP I reckon

Yeah, that’s probably exactly what it was.

Yeah, Leclerc wasn’t messed up by that but he did question why they even pit right there

It does seem like they didn't need to doublestack but I don't remember how far behind 4th place was.

Ant had a big enough lead he was able to pull off waiting.

Well he was running net-2nd before the stop. The double stack / letting Hamilton serve his penalty pretty much meant he wasn't going to finish P2.

What was the alternative? Under a caution he likely wouldn't have made the lap to make up the delta if he waited until the next lap to come in.

Stay out and move to P2. It's Monoco. I'll take my chances on an older set of tires vs staying behind somebody.

Dude, he fricked up the start and went into the pits.

Look like it wasn't his fault and the decision to retire was the teams to protect the car

quote:

Laurent Mekies has apologised to Max Verstappen after the Dutchman’s Monaco Grand Prix came to an abrupt end due to a power unit failure. The Red Bull Racing team principal admitted the issue was entirely down to the team, while confirming Verstappen will receive a new engine for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

After being told to stand by, he had not received further instruction halfway round the lap, so asked: “What should I do?”

“Just bring it home,” was the response. “Box, Max.”
