Road racing is a nice break from ovals.

I hope they stay around 6. Getting awful tired of hearing the crowd demand them be removed. 6/36 isn’t bad. Still have 30 oval races. That’s over 80% of the schedule.

NASCAR will never try to be formula 1. And that’s ok.

I mean more in the sheer volume of road races. The crowd screaming that we need to watch other series if we like road racing.

NASCAR will never litter the schedule with more than what we have now.

I'm just pointing out that other road-racing series simply don't allow the kind of contact and roughhousing that NASCAR ignores.

I personally do enjoy the road courses.
Maybe not the Roval .

I agree. It’s kinda how SVG became so efficient.

The roval has served its purpose. Take that date. Give it back to the oval for a 400 miler. Run road Atlanta or something like that. Run another road course in this country.

If you really want to use the roval… give north wilkesboro a points date. Move the all star to the roval. Run strictly winners from all 3 series in the all star. Only winners from Xfinity and trucks. Top 2 plus fan vote from open.

Run it as a multi class event. That would be entertaining.

I don't enjoy the Roval, either.

Only thing about Sebring is how close it is to Daytona. I’d love it too, but does nascar want 3 events that close together, geographically?

Here's one for ya: I asked @chaseelliott about the topic of the week with the NASCAR championship format debate, and he endorsed full-season points.

Chase: "We've had a really good and competitive battle to the regular season (championship) over -- correct me if I'm wrong -- the last two or three years. It's really been pretty tight all the way down to Daytona.

If you just take that as your sample set over the first 26 weeks, it looks pretty solid to me.

The system would be just fine if you just had a full season. And if somebody runs away with it, so what? Let's celebrate the fact that somebody ran away with it, that somebody was just that good.

Motorsports does not have to be like everybody else to be successful. And I'll stand by that til I get done."

No. I think they prefer it because they don’t know or understand Car Racing. Only stick and ball sports. They want it to be like what they know. Only problem is they don’t understand why there 36 teams play in our championship game instead of two like they are used to.

Well said Mark. The best part about Nascar is that all 36 teams play every game. There's no home or away, fans are there because they love racing and it produces the most fan and family friendly atmosphere of any sport
