Someone on an Indy car board I follow, in response to a poster pointing out that even though Legge brings a crapload of money to the table, which is why she’s got this NASCAR deal, that money had been earmarked for an Indy ride, said, “Is it a tragedy now that she might put a Cup driver in the hospital instead of another Indycar talent?”

Marcus Smith has to be nervous. Does he invest in Bristol and rip the concrete out and put in asphalt while reconfiguring the track back to how it was when Dale rattled cages? The last lap bump in runs we saw so many times are a thing of the past with this car. I would hate to see this track pulled from the schedule due to the crappy product but as Dale Jr mentioned on his podcast it is a possibility.

They may not have a choice.

Pull it from the schedule, fix it, then reinstate it in its old spot.

Off weekend for Cup, but Xfinity and Trucks are at Rockingham. Glad to see The Rock back in NASCAR.

I liked the truck race at the rock. Weekend is sold out. Cup needs to be here. Unique track, big crowds.

Unfortunately he got caught up in an incident that involved Legge. She has no business being in stock cars. She is moving chicane so far in every race she has been in.

Katherine Legge was a rolling road block and caused a huge wreck. Get these unqualified rent a car drivers out

Besides her, the racing was great! Cup needs this car! It can slide and not wreck and move around the track and pass - just an all around better car. The Cup cars are fricked ip in comparison

Reminder what Nascar did to Nascar:

Last week at Bristol:

NASCAR Cup (FS1): 2.054 million

In 2002, over 10 million people watched the spring Bristol Cup race on TV.

8 million people stopped watching Nascar. I wonder what it would take to get them back watching again?

I am so close myself. Once they go to Prime for 5-6 races I won’t watch. Its such a clown show nowadays

How many more viewers would they have gotten on Fox?

Not the 8 million they’ve lost. Maybe 500k more? Wait til they move to the pay channel for the 5 or 6 races. I won’t watch and nor will many others. Sure, they got paid to do that but its another dagger of many self induced errors. It hurts them long term.

Anyone ever been to Texas Motor Speedway in the past few years?

I’ve only been to Talladega once, and Daytona (my home track) too many races to count.

I’m curious about Texas because it gets a bad rep, but I’m heading to Florida next week, then flying back to Colorado on May 4th. I can change my flight to have a long lay-over at DFW.

Would it be worth going to?

Last time I went it was fine. Its a big place. They do great with traffic control getting people in and out. But you might want to watch the weather this time of year can be tricky.
