Way too early to worry. What happens now will be different later season. Last year Logano had a horrendous start to year.

Austin Cindric to run a throwback Earnhardt circa 79-80 Bud Moore #2 at Darlington.

Team Penske and Austin Cindric today unveiled a special throwback paint scheme for the upcoming Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway, the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR. Cindric’s No. 2 Freightliner Ford Mustang will sport a blue and yellow design inspired by the 1979 and 1980 No. 2 livery driven by the late Dale Earnhardt.

Cindric revealed the scheme Tuesday afternoon at the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion, joined by Governor Henry McMaster and Darlington Raceway President Josh Harris.

"There are few names in our sport more recognizable than Earnhardt. The opportunity to pay tribute to a legend, while also recognizing the incredible history of the No. 2 in NASCAR, was the goal behind this scheme,” said Cindric. “Freightliner has always been an incredible partner for us at Team Penske and played a key role in bringing this vision to life. We’ve had a lot of fun working through the details, and I hope our car stands out for fans at the track and those tuning in during Darlington Throwback Weekend."

Earnhardt piloted the blue and yellow No. 2 during the 1979 and 1980 NASCAR Cup Series seasons. Driving for Rod Osterlund, he earned Rookie of the Year honors in 1979, securing his first career win at Bristol Motor Speedway. The following year, Earnhardt led the standings from the second race onward, ultimately capturing his first of seven Cup Series championships.

The No. 2 car boasts one of the most storied legacies in the Cup Series, accumulating 102 wins—tied for fourth with the No. 3 on the all-time wins list among car numbers. Over the years, 108 drivers have piloted the No. 2, including Earnhardt, who won six races in the same blue and yellow scheme that Cindric will revive for this year’s Throwback Weekend. Four Team Penske drivers have piloted the No. 2 Cup Series entry and have accumulated 81 of those triumphs.

Darlington is the perfect place to celebrate NASCAR’s heritage, and this scheme is a fantastic tribute to Dale Earnhardt and the legacy of the No. 2," said Harris. "Throwback Weekend is all about honoring the icons who shaped the sport, and we’re thrilled to see Austin and Team Penske bring this classic look back to life for the fans."

That scheme fricks.

If you're going to honor someone at Darlington, honor David Pearson. He owned that place.

Last time I checked, Earnhardt won 10 races there. WTF are you talking about?

I love Pearson, aside from Dale he's tGOAT, but c'mon dude.

ETA: Dale won 9, but my point still stands.

Earnhardt won 9 and Pearson won 10. It’s interesting that both drivers only won the Southern 500 3 times apiece. Jeff Gordon is 3rd all time with 7 wins. 6 of his 7 wins came in the Southern 500.

14 years ago today the Wrinkled Wonder, Mark Martin, won his last NASCAR race.

Best driver to never win a title. If Denny doesn't win one he might take that title but Mark finished runner-up in the points 5X.

So what was illegal about it?
NASCAR's hands better be clean.

This is just a bad look for nascar. Jordan is good for the sport and is willing to spend money. His cars are performing well this year. I don’t understand what nascar is trying to accomplish. Well, I do. They want everyone to agree to their terms but don’t they realize a rising tide lifts all boats?

Is that what NASCAR really wants? To lift all boats? Or to let Hendricks, Gibbs, Penske divvy up everything?

Once again nascar steps on its own dick. The France family is a bunch of fricking idiots.

No they don’t want to lift all boats. They want to lift theirs and only the others closely tethered to it.

They should want to lift all boats though. Jordan is good for the sport.

This is a really really bad look for NASCAR.

Most oblivious leadership in all of sports and it's not close.

I've never been a bid Denny Hamlin fan but always respected for everything he does for the fans behind the scenes but NASCAR's bullshite damn sure makes me pull for him and MJ.
