I like Road course races but would like to swap a few out. I don’t like the Roval and to be honest I can’t say I’m a fan of COTA but am fine keeping it until something better comes.
Watkins Glen
Sonoma
Random street course race
Road America(I liked this one)
COTA
Could Laguna Seca host a cup race? I know it’s close to Sonoma so that probably won’t be an option. What about Mid Ohio?

There should be one rotating spot for a different road course every year. Portland, Lime Rock, Barber, Mid-Ohio, etc

In a perfect world… I like a 40 race schedule with 8 races. That would include several doubleheaders so to not race every weekend.
Sonoma, Watkins Glen, COTA would be permanent.
I’d rotate between one in Canada and one in Mexico.
One street track is a must.
I’d like one weekend overseas somewhere with a doubleheader format.
And one round rotating between Virginia, Portland, mid-Ohio, road Atlanta, and Road America.
Laguna Seca would be awesome, but I don’t know that it works with Sonoma being so close.
But this is way more dream than reality.

I see between the three of us, we have this road course thing figured out.

It's too rigid. You breathe on the damn suspension and it breaks off. And, the aero packages have sucked for 20 years.
Posted on 8/14/25 at 8:43 am to tWildcat
It's basically an IMSA, V-8 Supercar, NASCAR mashup. The problem is aero.
The splitter has to ride so high to feed the underbody and diffuser for downforce. It works great when running alone but NASCAR doesn't race that way. You can't nose up to somebody, you have to offset to feed the underbody.
If the aero was overbody instead of underbody, you would still lose nose downforce while close, but the leading car would lose rear downforce off his rear spoiler due to the laminar flow of the rear car being close.
The digital rear camera doesn't help either because instead of mirror driving, they have a wide angle of the car to the rear. The lead driver can more easily just put his car in front of the trailing car to bleed the underbody aero without compromising his down force.
Bad package for most tracks.

Get rid of the splitter and bring back the air dam. Let the teams run the rear spoiler at any angle they want.

All Star Race is moving to Dover.

Terrible track for it. With the way Charlotte Motor Speedway is putting on some of the best racing in the series, just move it back to there. You would probably have an exciting All Star race again for the first time in years.

Used to love Richmond but the last few years the racing hasn’t been the best there to put it nicely. Expect some long green flag runs tonight and the leader checking out at the front.

What a joke. That’s no better than North Wilkesboro. If we’re going to keep this garbage car, then move it back to Charlotte where this car actually has a chance to put on a decent show.

The most “meh” track on the circuit. SMFH.

Agree about Junior, but I think this car just sucks.

Nwb is getting a points race.
Would be cool to see them rotate it like the clash. Having it at Rockingham, South Boston etc would be cool but obviously the tracks are going to try to get their income

Interesting fact that was just shared on the broadcast is that SVG only has one finish of 17th or better on an oval this year. They say he will need to average a 17th or better place finish in the first round of the playoffs to advance to the second round.

Ty Gibbs just wrecked one of the best cars so far tonight - Tyler Reddick.
EDIT: looks like Suarez got into the back of Gibbs which got Gibbs lose and into Reddick.
