If SVG could be even halfway decent on ovals, he’d make the round of 8, with a bunch of luck the final 4

I really think he will get there on ovals eventually.

I agree. He’s great for NASCAR. We need new blood like him.

100% look at how road course guys have adapted to ovals in INDYCAR

SVG’s dominance is going to trigger a huge changing of the guard of evolution in drivers in nascar

Ultimately outside of Zilisch, SVG, Kyle Busch, Hamlin and Kyle Larson there is not true world class talent in NASCAR

They are ok in the stock car world , but compared to the avg talent in Indy, F1, WEC, IMSA , the average driver skill in NASCAR is quite low

I think you will end up seeing more foreigners- probably quite a few former WEC / IMSA and DTM badasses come in

The inevitable future invasion of elite foreign talent will mimic the metamorphosis of INDYCAR/CART in the 1980s and 1990s.

NASCAR will eventually evolve into a schedule with half road courses and half ovals, maybe even have a high % of foreign drivers, and foreign OEMs with BOP’d V6 and inline 4 engines … Honda , maybe Hyundai.

I think these changes will actually make me like nascar more, but it will cause a rift in the sport.

I could see a split happening between one faction that wants to return nascar to its roots with another faction embracing the natural evolution of the sport , ultimately mimicking the IRL/ CART split down the road .

It’s getting old to hear all the old heads say that nascar needs to reduce the road courses.

6 out of 36 is not too many. Literally less than 20% of the schedule.

The problem is they’re so clumped together.

I don’t recall people wanting them gone from the schedule when Jeff Gordon dominated them. Or when Chase Elliott dominated them. So why is it an issue that SVG is?

I like road courses. I don't like the fact that drivers are allowed to body-check each other out there.

I'm an old head NASCAR fan and do not mind the RC races. And, I agree with you, they're too bunched up. They need to spread them out some.

Glad to hear there are some that are ok with them.

They need to do something about track limits and driving standards. I don’t mind contact but dumb decisions need penalties.

This. There's way too much pushing and shoving on road courses.
