Only 4 races into the season, but my non expert thoughts...

* New blood has been good for F1...ANtonelli and Bearman really shining...and Hadjar has shown some great mental strength after the disastrous Australian start

* HAAS - yes, I am biased, but Ayao and team have been great on strategy and Ocon has been racy...it could fall apart but to be where they are now considering some of the testing is amazing

* McClaren - only thing I see stopping them is Norris getting angry as it seems to be Piastri's team now...will he get the calls

* Sauber - what you would expect...

* Aston Marting - woof...they are bad

* Williams - showing some spark but almost feels like Haas a few years ago early where they were getting run into, and pure unlucky a few times

* Red Bull - how many races will Max be able to pull out...this seems like it might be over as frankly does not seem like any answers...and Yuki is at least much better than Liam

* Alpine - not much to say, but glad to see Pierre get some points...hopefully gets more competitive

Ferrari - good strategy a couple times, a couple mind melts, etc...typical Ferrari...i do think Lewis still has it and will get better as he gets more comfortable...but you can tell Charles is frustated

Mercedes - #2 team?

Think they’ll still treat them as equals and get preferential treatment to who qualifies the highest each race.

What was up with everyone’s brakes?
Max hated his, Charles hated his. Don’t remember that being much of a topic

I think that lasts until one gets distance on the other they will let them fight it out as long as it stays cordial and it doesn't cost the team.

I was thinking maybe it had to do with the tires. Tires seemed to have everyone thrown for a loop and it didn't seem anyone had the right setup.

Everyone starting on softs was obviously the wrong move. Med/med/soft seems to have been the right move.

I like Kimi's driving. You can tell that he likes taking his car up to the razor's edge of peak performance in an aggressive, yet surprisingly, highly-experienced and poised manner for an F1 racing rookie. I see good things coming to him pretty quickly, just as they have for Piastri.

*also - wtf has happened to Aston Martin. A year ago everyone was marveling at the strides they'd made, and they were in the top 3 then the second half of the season they just fell apart. How much longer can Alonso go on like this? I guess if he's resigned to just collecting a paycheck, it doesn't matter, but it sure would be nice to see him have a decent car again before he gives in to Father Time.

Agree about Kimi. My daughter and wife don't like Piastri because "he has no personality". I replied that it is his calm demeanor that allows him to perform at such a high level. He doesn't seem to let the stupid shite that bothers other drivers bother him.

My totally wild (and likely way off) hypothesis would be Papa Stroll thought he could treat F1 like his other ventures, but in the cost-cap era he can't throw money at a problem to fix it. Nando probably mails in feedback, and Lance isn't capable. Factor that in with a team that isn't motivated because they have a window licker and geriatric as their two drivers. Like, who cares if they make a better car. They're not going to get any better.

They have all their focus on next year. Papa Stroll didn't hang around Toto all that time and not get his gameplan together. Newey couldn't change this years car if he tried, Honda will be a radical change for anything learned.

Will Alonso and crayon eater be there? Not sure.

Max driving for Aston next year isn’t too far fetched

I love how everyone talks about these exit clauses, but no one ever produces an actual picture of the contract or wording.

All of the performance exit clauses for Checo and they still had to pay him. Ricciardo/McLaren exit clause and they still had to pay him.

Well they stupidly re-signed checo during the summer break. That seemed to guarantee him a new Private Jet

I'd love to see an actual picture of the checks.

Part of the budget they submit at the end of the year even though it doesn't go against cost cap. Believe it is also filed with the contract clearing house or whatever it is called.
